Huxley was standing beside Zechariah after he hung up the call, trembling with fear. 

“I’m serious. Clement really does have a friend who knows Mr. Gray,” he said nervously, following Felix’s instructions word for word. 

But Zechariah wasn’t having it. To his surprise, Zechariah swung a hard slap across Huxley’s face. 

“Bullshit! If Clement had a friend like that, would he still be groveling at the bank and begging for a measly loan?” 

Kurt was no minor figure. In a city like Gray City, there was probably not more than ten people who could afford to disrespect him. For someone like him, getting a loan approved was child’s play. 

“I know you’re friends with Clement, but if you keep talking nonsense, don’t blame me for what happens next!” Zechariah snapped. 

At that moment, Felix walked in, his expression calm as ever. 

“Huxley was giving you some good advice. However, it doesn’t seem like you’re accepting it,” Felix said casually. 

“Huh?” Zechariah glanced at him sideways, sizing him up. “And who the hell are you?” 

“I’m the friend Huxley mentioned–Clement’s friend,” Felix replied. 

Zechariah chuckled. “Oh, right, I remember now. You were in the room earlier, weren’t you? You’re claiming to know Mr. Gray with a face like yours? Careful, or you might end up digging your own grave with all your lies.” 

Felix didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he took a step to the side and gestured behind 

him. 

“Alright, why don’t you let him explain how serious this situation is?” 

The next moment, a towering man stepped into the room. 

“Peter?” Zechariah stammered, his face instantly losing color. 

Peter was Kurt’s trusted right–hand man. He was someone Zechariah couldn’t mistake. The man was well–known for handling most of Kurt’s business. 

Without a word, Peter strode over, grabbed Zechariah by the collar, and repeatedly slapped him across the face hard. 

When he finally stopped, Peter glared down at Zechariah and asked coldly, “Are you blind? How dare you disrespect Mr. Zeller? You’re coming with me to see Mr. Gray!”

“You don’t need to say a word,” Felix said, his tone sharp and final. “From now on, when you see Clement or his wife, you’d better take a different road. Don’t say I didn’t warn you -you only get one chance.”
