Felix looked up and squinted at the strange sight above. It really did seem like the moon had fallen from the sky. At first, it drifted slowly, but its speed had suddenly multiplied several 

times over. 

“Interesting technique. Is that a sword move?” 

As Felix quipped, Selmer thrust out his palm, sending a silver light that dispersed into nothingness. 

Felix lightly stepped back several dozen yards. Almost instantly, a cold light swept through where he had been standing, completely enveloping Selmer. 

“Not a sword strike–it’s an energy blade, and a skilled one at that,” Felix noted. 

This attack targeting Selmer was far more powerful than Micah from the Starfires Felix could hear an unfamiliar language roaring from the attacker’s direction, distinctively Astorian, though he had no idea what they were saying. 

Then, another voice rang out–this one comprehensible. It confirmed something else. There was not just one attacker There were two. 

“Dragonians sure are bold! How dare you cause trouble in Astoria’s territory? You’re asking for death!” 

The second person’s methods were different, their light and shadows blending seamlessly with the energy blade to launch a coordinated assault on Selmer. 

Felix figured his earlier display of power had drawn these two Astorian experts here. He wondered if they were just hanging around nearby. If so, that felt a bit extreme. For instance, Felix was in Gray City, and he would not sense a battle breaking out all the way in Canraville. 

Selmer sneered, his tone dripping with mockery as he said, “You think you’re all that? Fine. I’ll humor you both.” 

With a cold laugh, he shifted his stance, unleashing a new technique that immediately overwhelmed the two attackers. Just then, a shadow wriggled behind Felix. 

In an instant, it morphed into the towering figure of an older man, who grabbed Felix by the neck with a reverse grip. 

“Stop!” The voice–Dragonian, clear as day—had come from this elder. 

Selmer halted his attacks, and the blade–wielding elder joined them, stepping closer to Felix. He was shorter but no less intimidating. 

“You can’t win fair and square, so you take hostages?” Selmer asked. 

The shorter elder smirked. “Surrender now, or this brat is as good as dead.”

Selmer’s expression grew strange, and he looked like he was fighting the urge to laugh. He could not believe what he was hearing. Of all the people, they had chosen to take Felix as a hostage. 

“If I’m not mistaken, one of you is a warrior, and the other’s a shadowstalker. Don’t you think this feels a little… beneath you?” 

The shorter elder was unfazed. “The result is all that matters. The process? Meaningless. Dragonian warriors who dare to cause trouble in Astoria will have to face the consequences.” Felix had enough of their shamelessness. With one step, he broke free of the old man’s grip. Then, to their horror, both attackers found themselves paralyzed.
