The wound was not too big, but it was far from minor too. It was from a thin, razor–sharp blade that was still logged in the flesh, and it continued to ooze blood. 

Oneida tightened her fingers slightly. It became clear to her that someone had intentionally injured the horse with a sharp blade, causing it to become agitated and run off the race track. 

No wonder it suddenly let out a painful neigh and lost its mind. 

The question now was, who was the person who intentionally injured her horse and prevented her from continuing the race? 

A suspicion began to form in Oneida’s mind. The culprit was likely the same person who deliberately damaged her bow earlier. 

Oneida furrowed her brows, and a cold glint flickered in her eyes. 

She realized that she was being targeted. 

Tightening her grip on the reins, Oneida patted the horse’s neck. She chuckled softly and said, “Little Horsey, we need to go back. Can you run a little faster?” 

The horse seemed to understand Oneida’s words. It suddenly bolted toward the race track, returning the way they came. 

Oneida rode on the horse and calmly scanned her surroundings with a cold gaze. 

Finally, she found what she was looking for in a small tree. 

She casually plucked a few leaves and crushed them into a paste in her palm. 

With her lips curled up lightly, she said to the horse, “Hold on, Little Horsey. I’m going to treat your wound.” 

When she finished speaking, she deftly extended her hand behind her and swiftly pulled the blade from the wound. 

Naturally, the horse felt the pain and neighed hoarsely. 

But the next moment, a cool sensation came from the wound, and the pain seemed to disappear. 

The horse paused for a moment and then regained its energy. 

Next, Oneida applied the paste made from the leaves onto the horse’s wound. The bleeding stopped immediately, and the horse seemed to feel much less pain. 

And with that, Oneida and her horse got themselves together and hastened back to the race track. 

“Oneida.” 

As Oneida rode along the path, two familiar figures suddenly appeared ahead of her. 

Hendrick and Matthias were riding toward her with looks of concern on their faces. 

The corners of Oneida’s lips lifted softly. “I’m fine,” she told them calmly. 

While drawing nearer to Matthias and Hendrick, she continued, “Let’s go back. The race isn’t over yet.” 

She was determined to go back and take first place. 

After speaking, she picked up her speed and rode straight past them. 

Upon hearing Oneida’s words, Hendrick and Matthias turned around and followed her back to the race track. 

Meanwhile, on the race track, Ronald was frantically directing the rescue team to look for Oneida. 

The other students were still in the middle of the race. 

The top three runners suddenly rushing out of the race track and disappearing into the woods was absolutely good news for many students, as it meant they had a better chance of winning. 

They did not care whether Oneida was alive or dead.

Therefore, the students paid no attention to the disappearance of Oneida, Hendrick, and Matthias. They continued to ride their horses forward, wanting to reach the finish line as quickly as possible. 

Just then, a series of powerful clops rang out. 

The next second, the crowd saw a stunning young lady charging out of the woods on her horse. 

As her face gave off a delicate golden glow under the sun, she looked noble and beautiful. 

Her ponytail swayed elegantly in the wind, forming a beautiful arc, 

She rode with such confidence and vigor, and the radiant energy she exuded dazzled the crowd. 

Many were left in awe, unable to believe what they were seeing. 

It took a few moments for everyone to realize that it was Oneida. 

To their surprise, Oneida returned! 

“Wasn’t her horse out of control?” they thought.

Everyone was surprised to see Oneida return on her horse, unharmed. Most importantly, her horse had calmed down. 

They wondered what had happened. 

Ignoring the surprised and confused looks from the crowd, Oneida swiftly reentered the race track. With a calm and composed expression, she turned to the timing referee and asked coldly, “How many laps am I behind?” 

Since she was forced to leave the race track earlier, she knew she was likely far behind. 

“You’re two laps behind,” the referee informed her. 

Oneida nodded. She returned to the spot where she left the race track earlier and resumed racing. 

Hendrick and Matthias also returned at that point. Just like Oneida, they were behind by two laps. 

They rallied and joined Oneida on the race track, determined to catch up. 

Upon witnessing this scene, the other students began to feel nervous. They couldn’t help but speed up.

No one had expected the three leading racers to return and even go on with the race. This placed inexplicable pressure on the other students. 

However, the good news was that the trio was two laps behind the rest. 

Even if they were skilled riders, it was unlikely they could catch up. 

The other students thought, “How could they catch up when they’re behind by two full laps? No human can do that!” 

Just as they were convinced that Oneida, who was two laps behind, couldn’t possibly catch up to them, a cloud of dust rose, and the sound of galloping hooves filled their ears. 

In a second, Oneida was already behind them. 

Sitting confidently on her horse with her elegant posture and striking appearance, she held the reins tightly as she went past them effortlessly. 

Oneida surpassed them all in the blink of an eye. 

And then, in no time, Oneida overtook the leading Roxanne and Yelena. 

It was only a moment, but Oneida already finished one lap. 

They were amazed and anxious at the same time. While they were in awe of Oneida’s impressive horse–riding skills, they felt anxious about being surpassed by her. 

Everyone was stunned.
