Chapter 45
After parting with Jackson, Oneida went back to Lucas‘ car and returned to the villa in Quakersville.
Lucas couldn’t help but feel a little reluctant since Oneida was about to move out. “Ida, are you really going to move out? You’re young and still studying. You really don’t have to live with Jackson.”
Oneida understood Lucas‘ reluctance, but instead of staying in Quakersville, she preferred to stay by Jackson’s side.
“Dad,” she called out in a low voice. Her tone was unusually gentle. “I’ll still come back to visit you often.”
Lucas couldn’t say anything more at that point, so he just sighed.
“So, was the engagement made more than ten years ago a good thing or a bad thing? I thought it was a good thing.” he thought.
Lucas felt very uncomfortable when he saw his daughter marrying a disabled man who didn’t even show his face.
They walked into the hall of the villa.
Jennifer was coming down the stairs.
Although she had already slept for a day and a night, she was still dizzy.
She didn’t remember what happened after drinking the orange juice last night.
However, many people helped her recall how she made a fool of herself last night.
Yuliana, Rachel, her friends, and even those who didn’t attend the banquet all came to ask her why she suddenly went crazy, and gave her a detailed description of her terrible behavior last night.
After hearing that, Jennifer felt ashamed and embarrassed.
She wished she would never go out anymore and meet anyone.
She had lost all of her dignity!
How could she face these people in the future?
At that moment, she only wished that the ground would open up and swallow her whole.
She didn’t understand why Oneida was still fine after she drank the spiked orange juice, but she herself, on the other hand, was affected.
“Did we drink the wrong drink?” Jennifer wondered.
However, she saw it all with her own eyes.
Jennifer was confused and had a headache. She also feels embarrassed and ashamed.
In the past, Jennifer was depressed and couldn’t sleep every time she thought of marrying an ugly disabled person.
Now that the dust was settled, Oneida was the one who shall marry him.
She didn’t have to be afraid anymore.
Jennifer smiled and pretended to be worried when she saw Oneida coming back from the outside. “Oneida, I heard that you went
She smiled and said, “I was indeed shocked,”
Jennifer couldn’t help but laugh gleefully on the inside.
She thought, “Look at her! So what if she is the real heiress of the Chaser family? She still has to marry an ugly man!”
“He is so handsome that I’m shocked,” Oneida added as she looked around lazily.
Oneida was actually telling the truth.
Jennifer’s face stiffened when she heard that.
She couldn’t help but think to herself, “So handsome?”
She quickly came to her senses and thought, “Oneida is just stubborn. No girl would admit that her husband is ugly. She is only trying to act tough! Tsk. Oneida is so pitiful. She was driven crazy by an ugly monster and even complimented him on his handsomeness.”
Jennifer smiled and said, “Really? Then, let us meet him when you are free. After all, he’s family.”
Oneida glanced at her calmly and said coldly, “Okay, as long as he wants to, everyone will definitely have a chance to meet.”
