After saying that, Oneida walked past Jennifer and went straight to her room.

She had only lived there for a few days, so she doesn’t have anything to pack. She just packed some daily necessities.

Edmund had appeared at the door before she noticed anything.

A tall man in a snow–white shirt stood at the door with his back to the light.

He pursed his thin lips and tried to say something, but he stopped.

To be honest, he refused to believe that Oneida really admired Jackson. She only married Jackson because of Jennifer.

“Oneida is just a newcomer to Jeahron. How could she know Jackson who was a hermit?” he thought.

In Edmund’s eyes, Oneida had become the victim of the Chaser family.

Grandpa and Grandma didn’t dare to offend the Bane family. Jennifer didn’t want to fulfill the engagement, so they had to push

Oneida out.

He thought about why his own sister was being treated like that.

Oneida didn’t know what Edmund was thinking. She noticed his figure. She raised her eyes slightly and smiled. “What’s wrong?”

“Oneida…” The handsome young man pinched his fingers awkwardly. Then, he made up his mind and said, “If you are unhappy in the future, you can always come back. If you are bullied, get a divorce! I’m not afraid of them!”

The young man’s eyes were full of sincerity and passion. “I will work hard and become stronger so that I can protect Oneida.” he thought.

Oneida paused for a moment.

She knew that Edmund probably thought she was forced to marry Jackson.

Although he had misunderstood, it was still nice to see such sincerity.

Oneida didn’t explain anything and nodded. “Okay. You have to work hard to become stronger, not only to protect your family but also to protect yourself.”

She reminded Oneida word by word like an elder sister should.

Thinking of what happened to Edmund in his previous life, Oneida’s eyes darkened.

She hoped that her little Edmund would be happy and healthy in this life.

However, Jackson lived alone.
