Of the Kajal Haripersad stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is The Shadow Alpha. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to CHAPTER FIFTY. Let's read the author's The Shadow Alpha Kajal Haripersad story right here.
A million thoughts ran through my mind, how would I know if he was okay if I couldn’t contact anyone?
Just as the thought struck me, a loud bang shook the room I was in and my senses were automatically heightened sensing danger around me.
“Jacob!” a voice screamed and seconds later I was being yanked from the bed and into a pair of strong arms.
“You’re alive…” a breathy voice panted in relief and I smiled inwardly knowing he was okay, better than okay actually.
“Jake, what are you doing? Put her down!” Dristan scolded, but Jake didn’t make a move.
“She told me she was dead.” He muttered out loud, but more to himself.
“Who told you that?” Dristan asked, seeming both angry and confused.
“That… I don’t know.” he trailed off and I just knew he was blushing, I cackled inwardly. He slipped up.
“You were in a coma Jake…” Dris informed him worriedly and he sighed.
“I know. I heard Doctor Lorez speaking to Rosie and Tatiana. How long have I been out for and what the hell happened to Allison?” I was slightly shocked that he was still here and not with his mate, what is wrong with him?
“Nine days. You fell into a coma while Allison drew the Silver toxin from your body. The poison nearly killed you. She saved your life.” Jake tensed at the news.
Nine days, I gasped, it’s been that long?
“At the cost of her own?” He muttered his thoughts out loud.
“What am I going to do with you Allie cat?” he sighed deeply and tightened his arms around me as if he thought I’d disappear.
There was a pregnant silence, no one made a move. The only sound was that of their breathing and the shuffling and muffled sounds of pack members around the territory.
“It was you… Crap, it was you!” he realised, I imagined him wide eyed staring at me with a blush on his cheeks; it was cute and funny at the same time.
“What are you talking about, Jake?” Dris asked puzzled yet again.
“Allie… She linked me, I didn’t even realise it was her, dammit I thought it was my conscious.” He answered regretfully.
“Sorry bro, we tried to contact her, but her walls are up and we can’t get past it.” he sighed.
Oh no, it’s a reflexive block
Jake cursed under his breath and Dristan burst out laughing a moment later.
“You thought Allison’s voice was your conscious? You thought your conscious was a girl!” he howled in glee.
Jake grumbled moodily and placed my body down on the bed again, as he stomped out of the room, Dristan’s laughter followed him, adamant to torment him.
Those two brothers of mine, can’t live with them, can’t live without them. I thought as I recalled all their outrageous past antics.
My mind drifted off to Papa Jamie. Concentrating hard I got into his mind and instantly wished I hadn’t.
‘Hmm, look at that ass so-’ I broke the connection as quick as I could.
Oh my goodness I’ll be scarred for life!
Well at least now I know he’s okay. I giggled to myself.
‘Shadow?’ I called excitedly as I felt her stir in my mind.
‘Allison?’ she answered, sounding tired and I immediately felt bad.
‘I’m so sorry Shadow, I’m really sorry for putting you through that. I should have been more careful and taken better care of you.’ I apologised miserably, I never gave thought to her well-being when I acted so impulsively.
‘Oh Allison, don’t apologise to me my dear. We both are one; you have done nothing that I wouldn’t have done myself. You have made me proud my dear and I am just fine. I may have taken a while to recover, but I feel good, do not worry.’ Her tranquil voice reassured me. I hadn’t realised how much I missed her presence till now.
‘Thank you Shadow, thank you for always supporting me and having my back. You’re everything a girl could ask for in a wolf and I love you.’ declared sincerely and she mirrored my feelings.
Despite draining my energy to the point of falling into a coma, I couldn’t be more delighted to have won the battle against the rogues and I really hope that all of their camps have been destroyed as well, but I guess I will have to wait to know the outcome of my plans.
I just wish I knew the name of that asshole whose throat I had the pleasure of ripping out.
‘Why can’t he just shut up and go with the flow like the rest of them? She already messed up my plans once before.’
‘Woah, what plans did I mess up?’
The argument continued, but nothing was making sense. Suddenly he became smug, which left me wondering what was happening. Involuntarily I left his mind and travelled back to reality where Dad was addressing Jake.
“This is for the best, I know that it isn’t what you want, but Allison wouldn’t want to see the pack fall to the ground in her absence.” The pregnant pause that followed was broken by Jake’s sight of defeat.
‘He is right, I wouldn’t, but not when all they’re being fed is lies.’
“Fine, but not yet. If she doesn’t wake up before the morning of the Alpha meeting, then only will I take her place.” He asserted and Calvin immediately jumped to the defence.
“Waiting isn’t going to help, even if she does wake, how will she attend in this state?” he probed and Jake scoffed.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you don’t want her to wake up Doctor Calvin.” His suspicious tone caused pride to bubble within me.
“That’s preposterous! Of course I want the Alpha to regain consciousness. I am merely hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.” He defended sounding a little panicky. I mentally chuckled at his stupidity.
“Whatever.” He brushed him off and stepped closer to me. The man excused himself and closed the door behind him.
“Jake…” Mom trailed off.
“No! Mrs Trust, I know Allison will have my head for speaking to you like this, but I am pissed. How can you all just stand there and listen to that crap?” his outburst was followed by silence.
“Devin?” he questioned outrageously.
Devin exhaled loudly, “You think this is easy for me? I literally feel nothing, the only thing keeping me going is that I can physically see her chest rise and fall with every breath. I don’t know what to think, okay? I can’t feel her, how am I supposed to believe that she made contact with you when you can't even feel our bond?” he stressed, but Jake wasn’t falling for it.
“Bond?” he scoffed condescendingly, “What bond Devin? The one you felt when you walked away from her after she revealed her feelings to you? The same bond you had when you were flirting with a bunch of teenagers in front of her at dinner that day?
“Take your sob story and go feed it to someone else, I am done watching you treat my sister like shit, she deserves better, always has and yet she gave you a chance. Well you know what? Second chances don’t come twice.” He declared seriously.
As much as it hurt, I knew he was right. Devin didn’t love me, he was attracted to me because of the bond and now that he no longer felt it, he was uneasy.
