I stood leaning against the wall beside the pack house.
Both the Blue Moon and Full Moon packs along with a few other members of other packs still lingered in the back yard where we usually held pack meetings. It was pretty early for everyone to be awake and in the meeting area, but I suppose it was necessary for everyone to be present before they do what they’re about to.
‘Connor, Bradley?’ I called in my mind and they both jumped in fright, I almost laughed out loud.
‘Allison, is that you?’ Brad asked in amazement.
‘Yeah, but don’t tell anyone that I’m contacting you.’ I instructed quickly, before they could create an outburst.
‘Why not? You’re awake, you’re alive!’ Connor burst dumbfounded and I rolled my eyes at his dramatics.
‘Of course I’m alive, did you think you’d get rid of me that easily?’ I scoffed, ‘They’ll find out soon enough, but first there’s something I need you both to do.’ They snickered in excitement; they were my favourite accomplices, always up for some kind of mischief.
‘What did you have in mind, Alpha?’ they asked in unison and with that I shared my genius plan with them.

The loud whispers of confusion came to halt when Jake stepped up onto the make-shift stage with Doctor Calvin Lorez in tow.
“Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I know you are wondering why you were all called here so early this morning. Well, Doctor Lorez is going to explain the reason as to why Alpha Allison has not yet woken up from her coma and also why it is important for me to take her place as Alpha for the time being and to attend the Alpha conference later today.” Jake explained mechanically, I could see how much this was affecting him and I wanted so badly for him to come out unscathed.
“Good morning fellow pack members, I am Doctor Calvin Lorez and I am in charge of Alpha Allison’s case. I regret to inform you all that your Alpha’s health is deteriorating; I know that you all are anxious for her to wake up, but I am afraid that’s just not possible. This pack needs a leader and that is why I have advised that Beta Jacob take her place at the Alpha conference.” He went to say more, but was cut off by my slow clapping.
Several gasps sounded throughout the crowd, everyone was stunned at my sudden arrival.
“Bravo! Wonderful speech Doctor Lorez, really! You would make a great Alpha.” I commended in an overly impressed tone.
“Allison…” Jake muttered, I noticed a large smile forming on his face from the corner of my eye, but my gaze was pinned on the man who called himself a doctor. He took a step back in shock; I didn’t miss how he subtly surveyed the area looking for an escape.
“Thank you brother.” I choked out, he believed in me when everyone else had already made decisions on my behalf.
“No Allison, thank you! You saved my life, you gave me a reason to wake up and most of all, You stopped that doctor from doing unquestionable things.” He articulated sounding grateful and I laughed with tears in my eyes.
“Are we ever going to catch a break?” I asked jokingly and chuckled, sending him a meaningful look.
“Jacob!” Rosie’s frantic voice broke through our little moment and seconds later she was crashing into his arms.
Jake’s eyes turned from amused to concerned in a millisecond at the sound of her voice, it was an endearing sight.
“Rosie! What’s wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt?” he cross questioned as he surveyed her for any harm. He sighed aloud when he found no bodily harm, but the concern never left him.
