She sat there in her bed trying to put on the best smile she could. Soon as everyone was done hugging her, and telling her how happy they were that she was okay. The questions started being throw at her all at once. Her room was crowded with her relatives, her parents, Keith and his parents. So, the noise was loud, giving her an instant headache.
"That's enough" Her father yelled annoyed.
"Well, let's just at least address the big elephant in the room" Keagan her cousin states eyeing everyone.
"What are you talking about?" Jay asks confused.
"Really? In times like this is when dear ol' Blair comes in handy. Because she has no problem asking questions no one else seems to have the balls to ask. But seeing how she's not here right now, that leaves me to ask the juicy question" Keegan states sounding displeased that no one understands what he trying to say.
"Wait, where is Blair?" Lena pipes up realizing her cousin was not there. No one spoke as they stood there silently passing anxious glances at each other.
This made Lena on edge at how everyone was acting, and she got the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. "Is someone going to answer me" She snaps.
Finally, after a brief moment her father sighed, and walked over to the side of her bed. Taking a seat next to her he reaches out to hold her hand. "Sweetie, there's something we need to tell you"
Fear coursed through Lena once that sentence left her father's mouth. So many things ran through her head in that brief moment. Was she hurt during the fight? Was she attacked as well? Did it have to do with something that seemed to be bothering her earlier that day?
"Is she okay?" Lena asks with a shaky voice, trying to hold back the tears that threaten to come.
"Yes she is fine-" Her father began to say, but was interrupted by Keith.
"She is most definitely not fine!" He snaps clearly annoyed. "She shouldn't be over there, at that good-for-nothing pack" He sneers, face full of disgust. Lena looks over to Keith, who looked extremely angered with tight clenched fists at his sides.
"Enough!" His father roars. "We already had this conversation, and I will not have it again" He reminded his son. By the looks of it to Lena, Keith most definitely was not over it. But kept his mouth sealed tightly, knowing that wasn't the place to argue with his father.
Her father sighs tiredly, rubbing his hands over his face. He looks back over to Lena and started to open his mouth, only to be interrupted once again.
"She did?" Lena blurts out in shocked with her eyes pretty much popping out of her head.
"She sure did" Her nana states seeming very happy about this. "This is where things start to get interesting. Blair wasn't her normal up beat Blair-self that day, as we all could tell. So, finding her mate was a big surprise to her. But what really caught her off guard was that her mate is part of the Blackhaw pack" Her nana explains not sounded bothered by this still. Lena sucked in a breath not knowing what to think or say. This could be a good thing having someone else close to her be mated to someone from the same pack as her mate. But thinking about Keith's reaction over Blair's mate, there was no doubt her pack would never welcome hers.
"Wait, so who is her mate" Lena questions wanting to know who it was.
"Beta Ashton Wilder" She answers happily. "You know him?" She then asks. Of course Lena knew him, but she wasn't about to admit that to her nana.
"Huh? What, no! I was just curious" Lena replies nervously.
"I smell a lie" Clair tells her grandchild crossing her arms. Lena quickly tried to compose herself, knowing her nana could always see right through her. Then again, her nana could read people very well. She was like a human lie detector.
