After being outside watching the party from the tree line where the woods began for the past three hours. Damian was about to link his Beta to take over for the rest of the night. When he heard the back door open stopping him as he immediately caught her scent. Lifting his eyes to see there she was stepping out into the moonlight. The reason he was their tonight, and the reason his wolf been a restless nag since they've met her. He chuckled to himself seeing his little red dressed up in her favorite story character. Damian still remembers listening to her talk about the stories her Nana told her. She was so persisted on trying to get him to show himself, and would talk out loud knowing he was listening to her.
"I know you're out there", the elegant voice belonging to their mate called out towards the woods; breaking Damians thoughts. "I don't know why you insist on hiding. I know you been watching over me, ever sense we first met" Lena spoke taking a few more steps towards the woods. He wished she would give up on trying to get close to him.
"If you don't show yourself then I'll have no choice but to come in there and find you myself", she warned him. Damian knew she was determine and it was his own fault letting her know he was close by. Stepping back further into the woods as she preceded to make her way into them. He was use to people running away from him. He did find it entertaining this fearless female was always trying to run to him. His little red was not afraid of him like everyone else, and he hated that he loved that about her.
Lena had enough of this hiding game with the wolf. She tried to focus on his intoxicating smell that is sweet, woodsy, and leathery mixed into one. No other scent could compare or affect her body like his did. His scent was getting stronger, meaning she was close. So focused on his scent Lena fail to realize there was something else in her presents. She was snapped back to reality when the wolf she was looking for was in front of her growling. She could feel the anger radiating off of him as he let out another warning growl. She started to take a step back till she realized he wasn't growling at her, but at something that was behind her.
Damian knew Lena was focusing all of her attention on locating him, because she failed to sense they were no longer alone. Damian could smell the vampire a mile away, but hoped it was going the opposite way of them. Once the rioting body scent came closer he knew he would have to get Lena out of there. The vampire appeared behind Lena without warning, and all control was lost as his wolf took over. Having a vile dangerous vampire so close to their mate was something neither Damian or his wolf could allow. A terrorizing growl from deep inside his chest erupted. Even though his eyes stayed locked onto the vampire. He noticed Lena started to step away from his terrifying growl. A ping of guilt from scaring their mate that suddenly appeared was gone just as quickly, when she knew it wasn't directed towards her. Giving off one more warning growl he leaped forward before Lena had a chance to turn around. Times like this the mating bond would come in handy so he could mind link her. Knocking Lena out of the way Damian stood between the vampire and Lena in a protective stance.
Once Lena started to realize what was going on. She quickly jumped to her feet from where the wolf had pushed her. She quickly made a run for it, because she's never seen a creature like that before. She couldn't run back to where the party was happening, because that would lead that god awful smelly creature there. So she ran deeper into the woods trying to remember the closes pack house or land. Lena didn't want to shift into her wolf form yet, because she didn't know what she was dealing with. Being a warrior, she was just as strong and fast as she was in her human form as she was in her wolf. Though both have their own advantages, but till she knew what she was dealing with she didn't want to risk it. Out of nowhere Lena was slammed into a tree, and everything went black.
After destroying the vampire, Damian had no other choice but to bring Lena back to his pack house. He was upset with himself that she got hurt while under his watch. He knew would never forgive himself for being so careless, and it didn't help his wolf was on edge over it. After their pack doctor looked her over, and reassuring that she would be fine. He decided to take her to his room so he could watch over her till she woke. He didn't know what he was going to tell her once she woke up. She was surely to freak out waking up in a strange room. But he shook his head not wanting to worry about that now.
Entering his room, he walked over to his bed an laid her down carefully trying not to wake her. He untied her red hooded cape and placed it on the chair near the bed. He carefully laid the blanket over her sleeping body. Damian couldn't seem to walk away after laying her down. His wolf needed to hold her, and couldn't allow that to happen.
