 started throwing up. 

Hendrix stood silently by her side, watching. 

It wasn’t until Noelle had finished throwing up that he finally thought to pour her a glass of water. He handed it to her so she could rinse her mouth, to which she accepted without looking at him. 

“Do you need to go to the hospital?” Hendrix asked in a voice that carried a hint of tension. 

After rinsing her mouth, Noelle calmly teplied, “No.” 

“But 

Noelle frowned and shot him a glance. “If you hadn’t carried me like that earlier, would I have thrown up?” 

But Hendrix wasn’t thinking about that. Since Noelle clearly didn’t dwell on it, either, he chose not to press the 

matter. 

After taking a moment to recover, Noelle looked at him and asked, “Don’t you still have work to do?” 

Hendrix stared at her in silence. 

“I think I’ll head out first,” she said, standing up to leave. 

But Hendrix grabbed her hand. “Just wait a little longer. I’ll be quick” 

Without giving her a chance to respond, he turned and headed straight to his desk. 

Noelle didn’t say anything further and simply sat there quietly. 

Hendrix first sent out two emails, then reviewed a few contracts before signing them. When he came across a contract with a mistake in the details, he immediately called someone in to address it. 

With Noelle still waiting, a sense of urgency gnawed at him. So, when someone entered his office shortly after, he was immediately showered with a barrage of scolding. 

The staff didn’t dare say much in return, only stammering dut a few timid responses. 

Hendrix, clearly annoyed, tossed the contract at them. “Review it again!” 

“Yes, Mr. Freeman. I’ll go over it right away,” the staff replied quickly before clutching the folder and scurrying out of the office. 

Noelle had been sitting quietly, but as the staff walked past her, she suddenly realized she knew him, He was the manager of Amity Group’s project department, someone she had worked with for the Continental Reach project. 

Back then, he had always behaved arrogantly toward Noelle and now, seeing such a stark contrast in his demeanor left her slightly surprised. As she looked at him, he manager also noticed her presence. 

However, given that Hendrix had brought her into the company earlier that morning–a fact that had already spread throughout the office he didn’t seem particularly shocked. Instead, he even offered her a small smile. 

Before Noelle could respond, Hendrix’s cold, stern voice rang out, “What are you still standing there for?” 

“Apologies, Mr. Freeman. I’ll fix it immediately,” the manager said quickly. Not daring to linger a second longer, he hurriedly left. 

At that moment, Hendrix grabbed his jacket and walked over to Noelle. “You know him?” 

“Yeah, we met a few times during the Continental Reach project.”
