As soon as Olivia finished speaking, Hendrix paused for a moment before asking, “Why should I help you?” 

“I… You.. As a member of high society, and as a man, isn’t it only right for you to help a woman when you see her being humiliated and treated unfairly?” Olivia sounded full of righteous anger. 

Hendrix smiled, but his gaze remained cold. “Sorry. I don’t have that kind of mindset, nor will I ever do something like that.” 

“You! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since you men are all the same! You’re all in this together!” Olivia said through gritted teeth. 

Hendrix couldn’t be bothered with her. Just as he was about to turn and leave, Olivia suddenly rushed forward and grabbed his arm. 

Her action made Hendrix’s expression change instantly. Without even needing to think about it, he pushed her hand away. 

His voice turned extremely icy. “Get lost!” 

Olivia had been furious at first, but when she saw the disgust in his gaze, she froze in place. Then, she suddenly felt a wave of indescribable grievance and sadness wash over her. 

But Hendrix didn’t care at all. He didn’t even spare her another glance. 

At that moment, her manager called, asking her to come to his office immediately. Since she’d already been fired, Olivia couldn’t care less about what he had to say. She simply grabbed her belongings and walked out of the 

restaurant. 

The moment she stepped outside, she saw someone at the entrance. 

It was none other than Hendrix. 

Recalling the look in his eyes earlier, Olivia felt a tightness in her chest. Just as she was about to approach him and explain herself again, she noticed that his expression and demeanor were completely different from before. 

Standing next to his car, Hendrix was smiling and chatting with someone inside. 

Olivia stood too far away to see who it was. In any case, it wasn’t really any of her business, but at that moment, she was gripped by an overwhelming curiosity. 

Because of Hendrix’s indifference toward her, she was suddenly desperate to know who could make him change so much. Just as she was about to step forward, the person in the car got out first. 

The woman was dressed in a white coat. Her soft, long hair cascaded down, and a mustard–yellow scarf–slightly worn–wrapped around her neck, giving her a serene and docile appearance. 

She had a very beautiful face. Not the kind of beauty that stunned at first glance; but the more one looked at her, the more attractive she became. 

Olivia quickly noticed the slight swell of her belly. Then, it finally dawned on her–that woman was his wife. 

Olivia had seen Noelle at the hospital before. She had even almost performed a prenatal checkup on her. But how could she have forgotten that? 

For reasons unknown to her, she suddenly found herself stopping in place. She even felt a surge of bitterness rising inside of her.
