Beatrice hadn't expected the conversation to take this turn. She was about to explain on Hendrix's behalf when Noelle took Rosie's hand. "Let's go rest over there."

Rosie nodded eagerly at Noelle's suggestion. She had been riding for a while, and her cheeks were flushed from the sun.
