Sean glanced over and replied, “It’s fine; let her in.” The manager chuckled politely. “Mr. Reynolds, I’m sorry for the oversight.” Xanthe scoffed silently. 

Xanthe wanted to find Shakira, but running into Sean complicated things. So, she decided to wait until they left. Sean kept glancing at Xanthe, and when he noticed she wasn’t interested, He clenched his jaw.

Clearing his throat, Sean said, “I’d like to explore the Lopez Group.”

“No need for that, let her show me around,” Sean said, pointing to Xanthe, who was shrinking in the corner.

Xanthe raised her voice, nearly cracking in the wind. “When did I cause your foot to look like that? Don’t slander me; it’s been ages since we last met!” 

Seeing her attitude pushed Sean over the edge. 

His teeth ground together in frustration. “That night, you were cornered by someone, and if I hadn’t rescued you, who knows what would’ve happened! You don’t thank me, and you forget I stepped on your foot! Unbelievable!” 

Sean’s outburst sparked something in Xanthe; she blinked slowly, memories surfacing.

Xanthe didn’t deny it. “So what? You had it coming!”
