I did not see Keith's silhouette for the first time ever upon arriving at Grant Corporation.

Just when I was going to open the door, Theo stepped out. "Why didn't you come in since you're here?"

I turned my gaze to Keith's seat. "I came here today for Keith specifically, but he's not here."

"He took the day off today." Theo placed the documents he brought out on Keith's table before pulling me into the office.

Keith had never taken a day off from what I remembered. He was always on call even if he were on leave.

Seeing my deep frown, Theo snapped his fingers and called me back. "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking about Keith."

"You're thinking of other men in front of your husband?" Theo's brow was slightly raised, and he sounded a little jealous.

I watched the corners of his mouth curl upward. "Oh, it's not like that."

"What’s going on? You just said you came here for Keith, and then you're thinking about him."

There was the apparent smell of jealousy in the air.

I smiled and slowly explained, "I heard from Marius back at Green Orange that he bumped into Keith at the hospital a few days ago. Perhaps a family member is sick? I wanted to come and have a look, but then you said he asked for leave. Maybe his family really is sick. Did he tell you anything?"

Theo was stunned when he heard this and shook his head. "He never mentioned it."

"He's someone who's never taken a leave yet suddenly did so. Why didn't you ask him about it?"

"It's because he never takes leaves that I approved it for him easily." Theo sat back down in his seat.

I pursed my lips. "Not a single ounce of care for your assistant. An assistant who's on call at every hour too."

Theo looked up at me. "I do care about him. But it wouldn't be good to pry into his personal matters if there was something going on. I thought he would tell me about it."

Was this the way men communicated with one another?

I pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down. "There's one more thing."

"What is it?"

Although I did not want to believe that something was going on between Keith and Nibel, I felt like I should still tell Theo about it.

"I believe he won't take anything with him even if he leaves Grant Corporation."

Theo sounded so sure. His gaze too was firm.

I suddenly realized that the relationship between Theo and Keith might not be the ordinary superior-subordinate relationship. They might be more of good friends, even brothers.

I came to a sudden realization when I thought of this. "Alright."

"You’ve figured it out?"

"Yes. If you trust him, then so do I."

"Good. I can't join you for lunch. I have a meeting in a bit." Theo shot me an apologetic smile.

I waved my hand. "It's okay. I just came to have a look, nothing else. I'll leave first, then."

"Be careful on your way back."

"Alright." I waved to Theo and then left the office.
