Chapter 632: Side Story 1. The Twilight Zone - 14

"Setnath?"

Reina looked up from the floor where he was stitching the hem of Zein’s trousers. It wasn’t just her though--her staff also looked up from the fabrics and catalogs in their hands.

"You...suggested a deity’s name as the new district’s main city?"

"Yeah," Zein replied nonchalantly.

"...how?"

The main cities in the numbered area, such as Althrea and Rexon, were mostly named after the past hero who saved the area. The new district, however, was a little bit tricky. If they wanted to use the name of the hero who liberated the place, there was a sizable list to pick from.

Should they use Radia’s name as the Supreme Commander? The summoner wasn’t that shameless.

In that case, what about Bassena, who destroyed the Fallen Star’s core, or Zein, who got rid of the miasma? Neither of them was willing to do that.

On the other hand, no one else in that operation would ever want to plaster their name as a city when the sponsor and commanders didn’t want to when there was no way their contributions were bigger than those three.

And so, Zhou Caishen the Wise suggested that the decision of the name should be given to those three instead of using their name or some random names that had nothing to do with the liberation. Radia ceded the chance to the couple, but Bassena couldn’t be bothered to think of a name when he was still mulling over what to give his sons.

"And so, you ended up as the decision maker?"

Zein let out a heavy sigh. "I was just trying to go through the meeting without doing anything."

"...you were sleeping, weren’t you?" Reina grinned.

Zein smirked. "Anyway, Radia told me it’d be better than letting the others do it."

"Yeah," Reina laughed. "They’d try to sneak in their ancestor’s name or something, and everyone would one the name they presented to be picked. It’s always good to leave the decision to just one person."

"That’s why I accept it," Zein shrugged. He just wanted the meeting to be over quickly.

"I see, I see--can you raise your arm a little bit?" Reina nodded and moved to Zein’s sleeve. "Why Setnath, though?"

Zein tilted his head up. "I mean...we’ve been calling the towers and temples with the patron deity’s name, right?"

"Right. So?"

"Setnath is technically the patron deity of the Tree who bears the beacon of the Far East," Zein said. After all, it used the power of Setnath inside of Zein the way other patron deity infused their power into the fragment. "But calling it the Tree of Setnath is weird, and people were already calling it the Tree of Twelve Guardians."

"Ah, so you told them to use Setnath’s name as the main city instead?" Reina snapped her fingers and Zein nodded.

The others were wary at first, since they were using a deity’s name. But Ludya spoke about how unfair it was for Setnath’s name to be buried when it was his fragments that were used as the base for Towers and Temples.

"We decided to send inquiries to other Towers and Temples if we could use the name, but I don’t think any of the patrons would mind," Zein shrugged. They should know the process of the Tree anyway, and Frejya would definitely rally for approval. "It’s only a matter of time. For now, we have decided to tentatively call the main city that. The announcement will probably made soon."

"I khee, I khee..." Reina nodded with pressed lips full of needles.

Zein grimaced at the terrifying sight and decided to look out of the window instead. The springs had left them, and the temperature had started to move from warm to slightly hot.

June had come, and it was a month away from his wedding.

Reina glanced at Zein and spoke again after removing the needles from her mouth. "A lot of people are getting married in June, do you know that?"

"No, but why?"

"I heard there’s a patron deity in the Western Republic whose other name was ’Juno’ and she was known as a protector of marriage--or something like that," Reina chuckled, before adding with a smirk. "Even though it’s a bad month for outdoor weddings."

Was it because of the rainy season? Zein raised his brow and glanced at the designer. "My wedding is also outdoor, you know?"

Reina gasped. "Oh, no!"

For a second, anyway.
