She looked me up and down with a satisfied expression.

"Who would've thought, the once-high-and-mighty Miss Hayes, now reduced to nothing but a broken shoe."

I shot her a cold stare. "No matter what, it's still better than you, the illegitimate daughter who can't even be in the light."

Samara was stunned, her eyes turning red. "So what if I'm an illegitimate child? The person Dad really loves is my mom!"

"Even if you love each other, you mother and daughter have still lived like gutter rats for over twenty years."

Samara glared at me fiercely. After a few seconds, she sneered.

"Stars, you still don't know, do you? It was dad who hired thugs to abuse you, and it was brother who posted your videos on the school forums."

"And when you were being tortured, calling dad and brother for help, they were with me, looking for dogs!"

"Stars, in their eyes, you're not even worth as much as my dog."

Despite having prepared myself for this, hearing her say it out loud still crushed me.

Samara's eyes were filled with malice. "If I were you, I'd rather be dead. I suggest you give up your place, it's better for you..."

She said it, hoping to see me get angry, to see me lose my temper.

But my heart had long died. I had no nostalgia for the Hayes family.

"I'll leave. If you want this position, take it."

Samara sneered and laughed loudly:

"Stars, you probably don't know yet, but I performed exceptionally well in the audition and have already received the acceptance letter from the Dance Academy. As for you...you'll probably spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair."

"But that's still not enough. I want Dad and Brother to utterly despise you!"

With that, she suddenly took a fruit knife out of her pocket and slashed at my face.
