Jessica didn’t expect to meet Jacob here and fell silent for a moment.

“Jessi, look, these crayons are so cute. The baby will like them. Baby, do you like the white one or the black one? Let’s take both,” Gabriela came over and

didn’t notice Jacob.

She was holding two pens shaped like flutes, one white and one black, and waved them casually in front of Jessica’s belly, as if asking for the baby’s opinion. In fact, the fetus in Jessica’s belly was only a two–month–old embryo.

Now that Jessica had a new baby, she would surely love the new baby, not him.

Jacob’s eyes were filled with tears. He held back his tears, grabbed his classmate beside him, and ran out of the stationery store, as if he wanted to find a place to hide.

Jessica’s heart ached. She didn’t expect Jacob to react like this.

“Okay. Let me take you back.” Gabriela looked at Jessica worriedly.

Jacob went home and secretly cried, then called Madeline.

When Madeline received Jacob’s call, she was reporting to Brian. Interrupted by the ringtone, Brian frowned unhappily. Madeline glanced at her phone and said, “Mr. Atkinson, it’s Jake’s call. Can I go out and answer it?”
