After finishing several comdogs, Jessica was surprised to find she didn’t feel nauseous at all. She drank her latte before finally entering Grant Group

At five o’clock sharp, Brian was already waiting downstairs, planning to drive Jessica home after work.

Jessica had been so emotionally unstable lately that he was distressed about her.

But just a few minutes past five, Jessica had already left work. Brian didn’t make it in time and only caught a glimpse of her getting into her car.

He quickly followed her and discovered Jessica was heading to the taco shop at the corner.

“Hi, Jessi!” Sana called out from the taco shop entrance, having arrived early.

Jessica had paid for their meal last time they shared a table, and Sana had been looking for an excuse to return the favor.

Jessica was sick of all those bland, watery foods anyway. The moment Sana mentioned tacos, her mouth started watering

Through his car window, Brian studied Sana with sharp eyes as she greeted Jessica warmly. He’d been ready to eat tacos with Jessica and then drive her home from the shop.

“Who is she?” Brian frowned. As far as he knew, Jessica’s only close friend was Gabriela

“Jessi, let’s get a private room where it’s quieter,” Sana said, linking her arm through Jessica’s like they were old friends.

Jessica felt a bit uncomfortable with the contact, but since they weren’t at the office, where everything reminded her of Madeline, she let Sana’s closeness slide.

After they ordered, Sana searched for conversation topics. “I heard this taco place has a new owner. Wonder if the food will taste different?”

“New owner?” Jessica shook her head. “Never heard about it.”

The restaurant had been open for a year or two, and business had always been booming. Why would the owner suddenly sell such a successful place?

Jessica wondered.

“It’s true.” Seeing Jessica’s skepticism, Sana continued, “I heard the transfer fee alone was this much–3 million dollars!” She held up her fingers for emphasis.

Soon their dishes arrived at the table. Jessica was able to discern the freshness of the meat without Sana’s prompting

“Wow, the new owner’s really going all out,” Jessica remarked. “Same prices, but they’ve switched to fresh ingredients.”
