Chapter 213
Jacob waited, “Mommy hates mel Daddy, I want Mommy!”
Though Jacob knew his wish couldn’t come true at the moment, the little hny just couldn’t help begging his dad for it.
Brian lifted his son onto his lap and tenderly stroked his hair,
“Don’t cry,” he said softly. “Meniny will come back.”
He didn’t blame his son at all. No matter how mature Jake tried to act, Brian knew perfectly well that he was still just a child who had barely turned sir.
“Daddy, stop lying to me… Mommy abandoned us She’s never coming back.”
Jacob, crushed by the harsh reality, wasn’t buying it.
Brian smiled bitterly.
“That’s what we deserve,” he murmured.
Who could blame Jessica? They ignored all that she did for them and broke her heart
At these words, Jacob’s sobs grew even more desperate, his small frame shaking with each cry.
Brian
wiped his tears while gently patting his back to comfort him.
“There now, don’t cry,” he soothed. “Mommy may not have promised to take you to school when the semester starts, but she did praise you. That means she’s already warming up to us. If we keep trying, we’ll win her over in time.”
“R–Really?”
Jacob hiccupped between sobs but still managed to look up at Brian.
Was Jessica really going to forgive them?
“Of course it’s true. Back then, she wouldn’t even let us through the door,” Brian said with a wry smile.
Compared to when Jessica first left, things have indeed improved quite a bit now
Jacob tilted his head and thought for a moment. “Yeah, it really does seem that way!”
*Done crying?” Brian asked gently.
Seeing his son finally stop sobbing, he secretly breathed a sigh of relied
‘I’m really not good at this,” he thought.
Jacob sniffled, shook his head, and after one last glance at Grant Manor, said in a muffled voice, “Let’s go, Dad. We’ll come see Mommy again next time.”
He was determined to show Jessica a better versigh of himsel
From the second floor, Jessica watched as the Mercedes that had lingered outside finally drove away, a sudden emptiness filling her chest.
They finally left?
Just as well.

Chapter 213
“Jessi, I’ve finished revising the proposal. Could you take a look!”
At the office, Sana pushed the door open with the revised documents in hand, only to find Jessica staring blankly at a desk ornament completely unaware of her arrival.
“Jessi?” Sana waited a moment. When there was still no response, she couldn’t help raising her voice slightly and called out again.
“Oh! Huh? When did you get here?”
Jéssica snapped out of her daze and looked up in confusion at Sana standing before her.
Sana looked at Jessica with concern. “Just now, I called you twice, Jessi. Are you okay? Didn’t get enough sleep last night?”
