Sera and Liam attended Jax’s funeral. They stood there quietly and watched 

the mournerspay their respects. Then, it was their turn

Sera approached Jax’s grave. The photo on the tombstone was a smiling 

young man, full of hope. Memories flooded her mind

When he was 6, she was abandoned by her parents and he said he would 

never leave her alone

When he was 16, he told her he loved her

When he was 22, he proposed and begged her to be with him forever

When he was 23, he cheated on her

When he was 24, he lost her forever

He died at 25

Her hatred faded. He was just a part of her past. Weeks later, Sera attended 

another funeral- Rylee’s. Learning of Jax’s death, Rylee fell into a great panic

Stress and worry drove her to psychosis and eventually to suicide. Since their 

divorce wasn’t finalized, Rylee was buried beside Jax

Sera found it ironic. They’d finally been reunited

held her hand, watching her with worry. She’d been listless since their return

To make her happy, he took her on trips- lavender fields, ski slopes, maple 

leaf avenues. At last nature healed her. She turned to him, her hand in his

smiling. She’d decided to move on

On Fifth Avenue, at sunset, she kissed him.Liam, marry me.‘ 

A year later, they married. Sera walked down the aisle in a white dress, her 

tears falling as she exchanged vows with Liam

Sera, thank you for marrying me.” 

Liam, thank you for loving me and giving me a home.”
