Gwen still woke up early the next day, and she was ready to visit her mom at the hospital again.

When she went downstairs, she was surprised to see Janice sitting on the couch.

It was evident that Janice was waiting for her because Janice spoke as soon as she appeared, “Gwen White, do you want to know how Jared started liking me?”

Gwen ignored her and continued heading toward the door.

However, Janice chuckled behind her back. “It’s related to you. Do you remember when the club organized a barbeque event on an island five years ago? It was when we were third-year university students.”

‘That…’ Gwen could not help but stop.

Janice slowly approached her while touching her stomach, which was still flat.

“During the event, Jared ate some dirty seafood, so he vomited, had diarrhea, and was unconscious due to a fever. Nobody brought medicine, and we couldn’t leave because of the high tide, so everyone didn’t know what to do.

“In the end, you risked your life by going ashore in a fishing boat and bought some medicine back for Jared, which was how he got better.”

Gwen naturally remembered the incident. She dared not bring Jared along at that time because the sea was dangerous due to the high tide, and she was afraid the boat might overturn during the journey.

As such, she braved the storm and waves and went ashore in a fishing boat to buy some medicine for him.

She had really gone all out for him and was even prepared to not be able to return.

It was such a foolish thing to do, but Gwen had truly done a lot for Jared throughout the past ten years.

Therefore, she always wondered if she was too foolish or if Jared was simply too heartless.

Gwen felt that she could have already heated up a stone with the same effort, but why was Jared so cruel and indifferent toward her?

Janice touched her stomach and casually provoked Gwen, “But you were too dumb. You actually didn’t tell the rest about the huge matter, and you didn’t stay by Jared’s side until he woke up.

“In the end, he thought I had bought him the medicine because I was the first person he saw when he awoke. Haha, of course, I admitted it because it was such a great deal.”
