“WHAT??” she asked in utter astonishment.

“You heard me, ‘I will ask him to reject me’. I am not interested in him at all. I only love my handsome wolf mate. Unlike Luke, he is such a gentleman. I will wait for him” I said smiling while thinking about my dear wolf.

Blood drained from Lily’s face when she heard my reply for the second time, with worried expressions she stated,

“You can’t just force him to reject you!”

“Try me” I said replied in a challenging tone and the corner of my mouth twitched into a smirk.

“Did you forget the fact that he must also agree to reject you? You can’t do it yourself!” Lily replied in frustration.

‘Why is she so frustrated? I know everything’ I thought before replying confidently,

“I know. I don’t think he is that much interested in me either. I guess we have mutual feelings about it”

“How do you know that? Have you seen ‘You’?” she asked while pointing towards me, referring to the fact how beautiful I am.

‘My best friend never misses a chance to call me pretty’ I thought but didn’t gave any reply.

She waited for a moment then continued with her rubbish explanation.

“I saw your interaction when you entered the grand hall and also when you were standing there awkwardly during the introduction part. The person who is not interested doesn’t look at you that way, El!” She said in an utterly serious tone.

“I know what you are saying. Every guy reacts this way but once he gets to know that I am no benefit to him. He will change his perspective. Just think about it, Lil! He is going to be the Alpha soon. Which Alpha wants to hangout with a good for nothing Luna?” I asked while raising my eyebrow.

“Elena! Don’t you think he must have done his research before coming here like you did. He probably knows that you have not changed yet and still, he was interested. It is the nature of soulmates! You eventually fall for each other” said Lily still with serious tone.

‘Why so serious?’

“Bullsh*t! I won’t fall for him and he is also not interested in me! Come out of your fairy tale. With the amount of nonsense you speak, you should be a fantasy author! You are wasting your talent” I complimented her in an irritated tone.

I have had enough of her story session.

“Believe me or not, from where I was seeing things, it was different” She said in a low tone.

“Stop talking gibberish and go to your room. You need a beauty sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day” I said patting her shoulder gently.

She nodded and got up from my bed with a long face. ‘Ah! Drama Queen’

“Okay, goodnight, El” she said while switching off the lights and closing the door.

“Goodnight, Lil” I replied smiling and went to sleep.

Next evening,

“Ughhhh!” screamed an annoyed wolf while entering my room.

“What is it now?” I asked with a chuckle while raising my head from the book I was reading.

Lily started throwing a fit as soon as she entered my room.

“I am tired of guiding these people and smiling at them like freaking air hostess!” she shouted angrily while removing her claws to rip something.

“Oh, I thought you were really happy for this merge. Go help your future pack” I said with a small laugh and went back to the book I was reading.

“You must be kidding, nerdy! You are his mate not me” said Lily furiously while taking a chair to sit next to me on the study table.

“Couldn’t care less” I replied fake yawning and turned the page of my book.

“You..!!” Lily was about to give me an interesting nickname but the knock on the door stopped her.

Lily looked at me with confusedly and in return, I replied with the blank expression and shrugged my shoulders.

She opened the door and Alice, the cute girl, was standing there with a polite smile on her face.

“Hey” she said while waving her hand.

“Hi there. Everything okay?” I asked in a calm tone.

“Yup, everything is good. It’s just I am bored” said Alice looking down in embarrassment.

“Do you want me to dance for you?” asked a really annoyed Lily, she had enough of their ‘Lost in the desert’ clan. If they ask for help one more time, Lily might end up killing some of them.

I immediately had to step in to protect my silly best friend’s image.

“Ignore her, she is just frustrated” I said with an awkward smile.

“No problem. I really liked the idea of the dancing though” she replied with a casual laugh.

Silly Lily’s face brightened up after her reply. People take more time for blinking as compared to Lily’s mood swings.
