While speaking to Samantha, Shaun was no longer paying attention to his surroundings. Hence, he suffered a punch, causing blood to trickle from the corner of his mouth.

These bodyguards weren't like typical bodyguards. They used to be in the military before retiring, so they had excellent martial arts skills.

"No! We'll leave together!" Samantha couldn't bear to leave Shaun behind after seeing what happened. If he were to die, she would rather they die together. She didn't want to live a life without him.

Samantha opened the car door. She was about to move toward the driver's seat to start the car when she suddenly felt something press against the back of her head. "Don't move!"

That feeling was exactly how she felt whenever she filmed scenes for spy movies, where someone would point a gun at her head. Samantha dared not to move and lifted her hands in surrender.

Shaun had been fighting several bodyguards at once. Upon noticing what happened to Samantha from the corners of his eyes, he went red with fury.

He kicked one of the bodyguards aside roughly before growling, "Don't you dare touch her!"

The gas station worker nearby was more agitated than Shaun. "Exactly! Don't be so reckless! Please don't shoot! This is a gas station! Otherwise, we're all dying here tonight!"

The bodyguard holding Samantha hostage was momentarily speechless.

"Apologies, Mr. Thompson. If you want us to let her go, you have to come back with us!" the head bodyguard exclaimed.

Shaun balled his fists tightly with an infuriated expression. However, Samantha noticed the hesitation in his gaze.

She shook her head and shouted, "No! If you're going back, we're doing this together! You can't leave me behind and go back with them!"

But going back together was the last thing Shaun wanted. Despite being Alex's grandson, he had never been lenient with Shaun. Thus, Alex would also never go easy on outsiders.

The head bodyguard had the same idea. Will had given orders for him to bring Shaun and Samantha back. "If you two come along with us quietly, I promise we won't hurt her at all."

"Mr. Thompson, don't make things hard for us," the head bodyguard said sternly. He never expected Shaun to do that.

However, Shaun couldn't be bothered to negotiate with the leader. His gaze became resolute as he gripped the dagger tightly before stabbing himself in the stomach.

His action left everyone stunned. Wasn't he being too cruel to himself?

Samantha was so shocked that she almost screamed, "No!"

"Let go of her!" Shaun growled while enduring the pain.

The head bodyguard was a trained expert who knew all the vital points in a human's body. One glance told him that Shaun had stabbed himself in an area that wasn't critical. He knew it was Shaun's scheme to trick them.
