"Oh my! They filled up the gas, but didn't pay at all!" The worker at the gas station noticed the bodyguards were about to leave and immediately held the head bodyguard back.

"I didn't get any gas!" the bodyguard leader exclaimed.

"You didn't, but they did. Now, you've scared them off. It only makes sense that you pay!" the worker yelled.

The head bodyguard's gaze hardened, causing the worker to tremble and scratch his neck. However, he still refused to let go of the bodyguard's hand.

The delay would give Shaun and Samantha a chance to escape. However, the head bodyguard had no choice but to pay. Once the payment was made, the couple was long gone.

Samantha stepped on the gas, speeding the car across the road. Thankfully, it was midnight, so there weren't many cars on the road.

After speeding the car for some time, Samantha slowed down after realizing no one was chasing after them.

"Hang on, Shaun. I'll look for a hospital nearby."

She looked at Shaun curled up in the passenger's seat. He had already taken off his coat and was pressing it against the wound on his stomach.

Samantha noticed the determination in his gaze and nodded with a gulp. "Let me find some medicine to help stop your bleeding."

She took a bag from the backseat and quickly fished out a small bottle from inside. "Quickly try this medicine. Hera gave it to me to prevent my allergies from flaring up next time. It's a custom-made medication, so you can probably use it."

While speaking, Samantha took out a bottle of mineral water and opened it for Shaun so that he could take the pill.

Shaun laughed in resignation. "You're so silly. Pills for allergies are not the same as pills for stopping bleeding."

"It can save lives, so surely, it'd be useful…" Samantha's voice sounded more choked as tears kept falling.

"Alright, I'll take a pill. Don't cry. Trust me, nothing will happen to me." Shaun reached out to wipe away her tears before taking the medicine as requested.
