Will said, "We're still searching for survivors, but we can't find any."

Alex fell silent at Will's words. Even Will fell quiet for some time. This was the kind of news everybody dreaded.

"Will, I want you to bring Shaun back no matter what it takes," said Alex, breaking the silence. "Bring him back alive. And if he's no longer alive, I want to see his body."

"Got it!" Will answered.

It was an uphill task, but even if Alex hadn't given that order, Will would've done all that he could to search for Shaun.

Half a month after the ship sank, the rescue team failed to bring them any good news. The company of the cruise ship also found out why the ship had sunk.

It was because the ship collided with some rocks during the rainstorm. To make things worse, the part where the ship hit the rocks was its most fragile part. Combined with the tsunami, the chance of survival was super low.

The major rescue team disbanded after three months of searching for survivors. Now, a small rescue team continued the rescue operation, but there was still no good news.

Alex had moved from his ward in the ICU to an ordinary ward. Although his condition seemed to have improved, his health seemed to deteriorate somehow as time passed.

"Hera, is there really no other way for him to get better?" Sandra asked as she gripped Hera's hand anxiously.

Although Sandra wasn't on good terms with Alex, he was still her father-in-law. She didn't want anything to happen to him after what happened to Shaun.

Hera shook her head in dismay. "No doctor can save a patient who has given up on himself."

If a patient wanted to recover, they'd first have to maintain a stable emotional state. These days, Alex was depressed and wouldn't have his meals. Hera kept him alive solely using the IV drip. Needless to say, he was getting worse by the day.

The Thompson family's butler, Brook, left the ward and gently closed the door. He said, "He's probably blaming himself for what happened."

After staying by Alex's side for several decades, he was Alex's closest confidant and had also taken care of Shaun. Alex was strict and punished Shaun severely all the time.

Sandra was astonished by his enthusiasm. He didn't seem like the emotionless man he was before. There had to be something going on. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so helpful or kind to her all of a sudden.

"I wonder what happened today? It's not every day I get to see you this eager," said Sandra.

In fact, Will felt very awkward, but he swallowed his pride and said, "I'm retired now. I can pick you up and drive you home from now on. It doesn't matter where you go. I can even accompany you anywhere you want."

Sandra wasn't amused, though. Her voice was cold when she said, "What do you want? Get straight to the point."

Will took a furtive glance at the strip of paper in his pocket. Written on the paper were lines and lines of sweet words used to catch the heart of a woman.

He realized that he just couldn't make himself speak those words. Those few sentences he spoke to her just now made him so embarrassed that he felt like digging a hole in the ground and burying himself alive.

Even so, he had to continue with what he started for the sake of the Thompson family. After hesitating for a bit, he painstakingly opened his mouth to say, "Sandra, do you want another child?"
