Dora would be doomed if Hera saw the post!

"Why delete it?" Kiara was confused.

Whenever photos of Dora with Eli were posted before, even if they were just standing in the same frame, Dora would be thrilled and would stay up late daydreaming about it. Why was she unhappy about the photo of them holding hands and even asked for it to be removed?

Thinking back to Eli's words yesterday, Dora announced dejectedly, "I've had a change of heart. I've realized that I don't actually like him that much. It's time to focus on studying."

Kiara was shocked and reached up to feel Dora's forehead. "You don't have a fever. Why are you suddenly talking nonsense?"

Dora was speechless.

Just then, Eli walked through the school gates with his backpack slung over his shoulder. Kiara spotted him and elbowed Dora. "Dora, look. Eli's here."

Dora had already noticed him but pretended she hadn't.

"Morning, Eli!" Kiara called out and waved at him. Dora grew tense and avoided eye contact.

But Eli walked past them without glancing their way, his face expressionless.

Dora was sure that Eli meant what he said yesterday evening. They couldn't even be friends.

"Wow, he's as cold and distant as ever. He thinks he's so cool, huh?" Kiara muttered, put off by his aloofness.

After school, Hera arrived at the teacher's office. Dora and Eli stood outside the door. Inside, Titus sat with Eli's mother, who had already arrived.

When Dora saw Hera, she greeted her meekly, "Mommy, you're here."

Titus cleared his throat and addressed Amelia, "Ms. Gaskell, I understand you're busy making a living, but you can't neglect your son. He's young and should be focused on his studies, not working part-time or getting involved with thugs. And he's even dragging other students into this mess!

"If your son truly isn't interested in learning and it's such a struggle for you to keep him here, maybe it would be better to transfer him to a regular school…"

"Mr. Lloyd, I'm really sorry for the trouble. Please give him one more chance. I'll make sure he focuses on his studies," Amelia pleaded, realizing he was hinting at transferring her son.

Titus felt a headache rising at her usual pleas. If he didn't stop her soon, she would go on endlessly as she had in the past.

He understood that every parent wanted the best education for their child. But in Amelia's case, he couldn't grasp why she insisted on keeping Eli here given how difficult it was financially and how poorly he performed academically.

He continued, "Ms. Gaskell, I understand your feelings as a parent, but please, try to understand mine too. Here's what we'll do. This is his last chance. Take him home, talk to him, and have him write a letter to promise he'll focus on his studies and not work while he's still at school. And he won't mingle with thugs or lead other students astray.

"If he improves, he can continue studying here. If not, I'll have no choice but to suggest finding him another school."
