With the office door left ajar, Dora overheard what was being said inside, and her heart sank. She hadn't realized things had gotten so serious.

She couldn't help but glance at Eli. She was worried for both him and herself. This school was the best in the city. And getting into another decent school might be difficult if they were expelled.

Her parents could likely find another option, but for Eli, whose family circumstances were different, it would be much harder. And she didn't want either of them to be expelled.

Eli had also heard Titus' words but remained expressionless as if he didn't care about the possibility of expulsion.

"Aren't you afraid of being expelled?" Dora couldn't help but whisper.

Eli shot her a glance, then looked away without responding.

Seeing his cold attitude, Dora pouted and muttered, "Even if we can't be friends, we're at least classmates. Why so indifferent?"

"I'm not afraid," Eli finally replied.

Dora was speechless.

Inside the office, Amelia quickly nodded and thanked Titus. "Alright. Thank you, Mr. Lloyd."

"Goodbye." Titus waved her off.

Amelia exited the office. She gave Dora an awkward smile and then took Eli's hand, leading him away.

After giving Amelia a stern talking, Titus poured a glass of water for Hera. "Ms. Youngworth, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come here."

Hera put down the glass. "Mr. Lloyd, please just get straight to the point."

Out in the hallway, Dora was straining to eavesdrop. Normally, Titus had a loud voice. But today, he had lowered it just enough that she couldn't catch what he was saying. Just as she was about to move closer to the door, Hera stepped out with Titus.

"Mommy." She looked at Hera with innocent eyes.

"Let's go." Hera held out her hand.

Seeing that Hera didn't look angry, Dora relaxed a bit, took Hera's hand, and said goodbye to Titus.

After leaving the school, Hera didn't take Dora home right away. Instead, they went to her favorite dessert shop, where Hera ordered her favorite cake and drink.

Dora was moved that her mom hadn't scolded her and even bought her cake and her favorite drink. But she also felt a tinge of worry. Why was her mom being so nice all of a sudden?

"Is it good?" Hera asked with a smile, resting her chin on her hand as she watched Dora.
