Victor called security, thinking of kicking Amelia out of the office so that she wouldn't cause him any trouble.

The security personnel came pretty quickly. They were about to arrest her and take her away when Gideon broke the silence.

"Hold on," he said, making the security personnel stop.

Fearing that Amelia might tell on him, Victor forced a smile and said, "Mr. Everett, she might look pitiable, but you shouldn't take pity on her. She's putting on an act. She's actually a bitch who seduces men."

He continued, his voice full of scorn, "Her private life is a mess, and she even has a bastard child. No one knows who the father is. Someone like her doesn't deserve your sympathy. Don't waste your time on her."

A smile crept onto Gideon's face as he responded with two simple words, "Oh, really?"

His dashing smile made him even more handsome, leaving all the female employees in the office swooning over him.

Seeing how Gideon smiled, Victor smiled convincingly and nodded forcefully to persuade Gideon.

He said, "Yeah. Don't be fooled by her appearance—"

He stopped halfway through his sentence because Gideon walked past him to help Amelia up from the ground.

"Are you okay?" Gideon asked her, concerned.

"I'm fine," said Amelia with a nod. "Why are you here?"

"For business," he answered. "But now, it seems like I don't need to anymore. Let's head to the hospital to treat your swollen face."

His tone was gentle when he spoke to her. Instantly, Jeremiah and Victor had a sinking feeling in their hearts.

Amelia never thought that the important client Jeremiah mentioned in the group chat was, in fact, Gideon himself!

Meanwhile, Jeremiah and Victor never thought that Gideon knew Amelia. To make things worse, she and Gideon seemed to be close friends.

"Mr. Everett… " Jeremiah pleaded, but Benedict stopped him from getting any closer.

In the end, Jeremiah could do nothing but watch as Gideon took Amelia away with him.

His expression darkened as helplessness fell on him, and the employees in the office scurried back to their seats when they saw the look on his face. They pretended like they were busy working.

Only Victor stood waiting for Jeremiah. "Mr. Xenon, I—" he muttered, looking troubled.

Jeremiah's angered yells cut Victor short. "What did you do to that woman just now?"

Victor, of course, didn't have the guts to say that Amelia seduced him. Instead of spitting the truth, he blatantly lied, "I didn't do anything! She wanted to resign. I was just questioning her if she had taken advantage of our firm's resources. I did it for the sake of our company! You have to believe me!"

But Jeremiah knew just how perverted of a man Victor was. If Victor weren't an efficient subordinate, Jeremiah would've sacked him long ago.

"You'll apologize to her and make it up to her!" Jeremiah spat. "I want you to gain her forgiveness, no matter what it takes! Otherwise, don't ever think of getting a job here in Jedburgh!"
