The line got through immediately, and a deep voice sounded. "Sweetie, why are you up this early?"

"Where are you?" Hera asked.

Bernard paused momentarily. Judging from her interrogative tone, she might already know what was going on.

Someone must've woken her up and informed her of the situation. The first person who came to mind was Xavier, who was pretending to be crazy.

"I'm at the Killian residence," he answered honestly.

"I'm coming for you right now."

He suggested, "Go to the Special Investigation Department. We can meet up there. I'll bring you your gift too."

She narrowed her eyes at the familiar name. The Special Investigation Department was in charge of investigating serious crimes and the elites in high society.

Why did Bernard suggest that place? Did he bring the Killians over there?

As an afterthought, she guessed what his gift could be.

"Okay," she responded and ended the call. Then, she told Wayne to drive to the Special Investigation Department.

"Okay." This was his first time hearing about this place. He slowed down his speed to search for the place on the navigation system for directions.

On the other hand, Chad had stayed up all night in the presidential office of Killian Corporation. When he was going to have some shut-eye in the small room in the office, he received a call from Linda.

"Chad, there's trouble at home," said Karen.

"What trouble? Why are you panicking?"

"Bernard brought the police over early in the morning and arrested the whole family!" she recounted anxiously.

Chad sprang up from his seat. "Is he initiating a rebellion?"

However, Chad despised such people the most, those who were greedy to earn credit despite doing such a bad job. "Stop beating about the bush. Get to the point."

Noticing Chad's impatience, Desmond flattered, "The grandmaster of Astral Nova made a move as soon as you took charge of this matter. As expected of you, Mr. Killian."

That sounded like a mock to Chad because he was told that the grandmaster of Astral Nova would be busy lately as a reply to his request of the grandmaster's audience.

When Chad inquired when the grandmaster would have time, he received another annoying reply that said, "The grandmaster's schedule for the next three years is full."

Such responses were clearly indicating that Chad wasn't welcome!

When Chad was going to walk past them and ignore them, Noah said, "Samson departed from Astral Nova an hour ago to the Special Investigation Department in Jedburgh. He's going to meet up with the grandmaster to bail Mr. Rhett out."

Chad stopped and asked, "Is this information reliable?"

Not even he could meet the grandmaster, so who could have requested the grandmaster to bail Rhett out?
