Everly knew Catherine was rich, so she wanted to get more money from Catherine when she had the chance.

In the past, 200 grand might've been astronomical to Catherine. But after opening the clinic, Hera had given Catherine all the money she earned.

Hence, Catherine became incredibly rich in the blink of an eye. Two hundred grand wasn't a big deal. She could grant Everly's request as long as the amount didn't surpass a million dollars.

"I have it," said Catherine. "I'll give you the money so that you can get out of debt and turn a new leaf."

Needless to say, Everly was delighted to hear that. Despite being thrilled that her problem would be solved, she pretended to hesitate.

"Is that really okay? Hera will be mad at me if she finds out," Everly muttered, troubled.

Catherine remembered what Everly did at the clinic some time ago. Her actions were indeed outrageous.

Hera would surely be upset if she ever learned that Catherine gave Everly the money. Even so, Catherine believed that people who were determined to change for the better deserved to be helped in any way possible.

If Everly became a better person in the future, she could come back to work at the clinic and lighten Hera's burden.

After giving it some thought, Catherine added, "I have a request too. I want you to meet Hera and tell her you're sorry. I want you to promise her that you'll change for the better."

Everly fell silent as numerous thoughts crossed her mind. Hera caused her so much misery. How could Catherine ask Everly to apologize to Hera?

In Everly's mind, she was the sole victim. She hadn't done anything wrong!

While the negative thoughts were running through Everly's mind, Catherine was done treating Everly's wounds.

Catherine then took out a bank card from her pocket, which made Everly's eyes lit up in glee.

"Okay," Everly agreed right away, sitting up and reaching for the card in Catherine's hand. It was at this moment that the doors of the clinic were forcefully pushed open with a bang.

Both Catherine and Everly almost jumped out of fright. Even the card Catherine was holding fell out of her grasp.

"Herie? Why are you here?" Catherine asked, surprised.

"Herie—" Catherine started.

"Take the card out of your pocket!" Hera ordered.

When Everly fell, she delicately positioned herself in a way so that she could take the card without being too conspicuous. However, she could feel Hera's cold stare burning in her back.

Everly hated Hera with all her heart! She had tried so hard to get the money. How could she give up just like that? If she couldn't get her hands on the money, the plump woman and her minions would kill her!

Everly didn't want to die. With gritted teeth and renewed strength, she pushed herself off the ground and darted outside.

However, she had barely taken a few steps out of the clinic when she felt her legs go weak. She toppled over and fell head-first to the ground.

With much difficulty, she turned to look at her legs. A silver needle was stuck in both her knees. She didn't even know when it happened.

Soon, Hera walked out of the clinic and approached Everly, her stance cold and indifferent.
