"When did Bernard learn to do that?" Douglas wondered.
When did Bernard start cherishing a woman like that?
Only a short time had passed, so what kind of woman had Bernard gotten acquainted with?
Curious, Douglas wanted to head inside to see for himself, but he froze when he saw Hera, sitting on the couch with Bernard's coat draped over her shoulders.
Oh, so it was Hera. It wasn't just any other woman. Douglas had found it strange, thinking that Bernard had a change of tastes in women. Then, he saw Hera in the room and it all made sense again.
Douglas called two of his subordinates to come to the room and then turned to Hera. In a respectful manner, he said, "Don't worry, Ms. Youngworth. We won't harm you, so please cooperate."
Hera put Bernard's coat on. When Douglas was about to leave, she said, "Douglas, give me Felix's number."
That stopped Douglas in his tracks.
"What? What did you just say?" He thought he had misheard her.
Hera was a little speechless at his reaction. "You've always had good hearing. What's wrong with your ears today?"
Douglas' jaw fell. He pointed at himself and exclaimed, "You actually remember me?"
A while later, he scratched his head awkwardly and told her, "That won't do. You remember me, but you don't remember Bernard. This will cause quite a misunderstanding."
"Don't you people know his condition better than me?" Hera asked.
Douglas thought she was testing the water. Hastily, he said, "Don't worry, Hera. Even if Bernard doesn't remember you, I still pledge my loyalty to him. I won't do anything out of sorts!"
He regretted it immediately after he finished speaking. He shouldn't have said that to her. The feeling of dread became stronger when he saw the odd gaze Hera was giving him.
It suddenly occurred to him that Hera was blaming him for not telling her the truth before this.
Theo: "Ahem. There's something I think I should tell you guys. I told her about Bernard losing his memories."
Aaron: "What the heck? Someone grab my beer! Before you continue, Douglas, allow me to first strangle Theo to death!"
Samson: "Damn! Theo, didn't you say you'd pretend to be clueless? Why did you go and tell her about it?"
Douglas: "That's right! We promised each other that we'd all pretend not to know a single thing about it. How could you tell her about it?"
Theo: "Get back to work, Aaron. Stop scrolling on your phone."
Aaron: "Never mind. I'll get my revenge a bit later. Theo, tell us what happened."
Theo: "Nah. Aaron, you have work to do. Don't let this affect your work."
