"Hello?" Hera answered the call.

"Where are you?" Bernard's gruff voice was heard. She could feel the coldness seeping through the phone.

Hera turned off the gas. "I was hungry, so I went to grab something to eat nearby."

On the other end of the line, Bernard was sitting in front of his computer with his phone in one hand. His fingers on his other hand hammered away on the keyboard, but then he realized that she had installed anti-tracking software on her phone, and the positions he received were scattered everywhere.

That was, of course, no big trouble for him. He continued typing away on the keyboard, and soon, he managed to get the coordinates on the map on his screen. It showed him Hera's current location.

She was approximately 30 miles away from the Imperial Hotel.

He scoffed. She had the audacity to tell him that she was "nearby"!

Not long ago, she even told him that she wouldn't run away from him. She truly lied a lot!

"I'll head back once I'm done eating," said Hera, glancing at the clock on the wall.

After preparing the food, she'd head back to the hotel as fast as she could. That way, she wouldn't be late when the event ended.

"You don't need to," Bernard told her before hanging up.

Hera stared at her phone, confused. She didn't have to return to the hotel. That was for the better as now, she had time to have lunch with the twins.

"Mommy, are you going to work?" Dora asked, blinking her pretty eyes at Hera. In a thoughtful manner, she said, "You can leave if you're busy. Tiffany can make us lunch."

Hera knew what was going on in Dora's mind. She crouched and flicked Dora's nose.

Hera replied, "I'm not busy in the least today. I'll be staying here, keeping you and Dylan company. Are you happy?"

With Hera around, Dora couldn't laze off. Despite what she was feeling inside, Dora answered, "Yeah."

She didn't have the guts to say no.

Just then, Tiffany commented, "Hera, the twins are still young. There's no need to—"

She paused abruptly. "Huh? Who are you? How did you get in?"

Tiffany shot up from her seat when she saw a man standing in the living room. He seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. She had a clear view of the living room from where she sat.

Tiffany was befuddled. She clearly locked the door just now, so how did the man get in?

Hera turned to see who it was. When she saw the man standing in the living room, she cursed under her breath.

The man was none other than Bernard himself. His expression was as dark as an overcast sky, and his gaze was sharp and he stared unblinkingly at Hera.

He still wore the white shirt and vest he wore this morning. He didn't even bring his coat with him when he left the hotel.

Hera guessed that he must've rushed here right after giving his speech at the event.
