Douglas was exasperated. "Astenia is too far away! Can I not go there? Who's going to take care of you if I leave?"
Then came Bernard's cold-hearted reply, "You'll go to Astenia." He didn't even hesitate.
Wait for Hera to wake up? Douglas, Aaron, and Theo were probably looking forward to seeing Hera punish Bernard for being so nasty to her.
…
Over at Four Seasons in the Killian residence, Dora started to miss Hera.
At first, Dora was curious and thrilled about staying at Four Seasons, but after staying there for three days, she missed Hera a lot and suspected that something was amiss because she hadn't gotten to see Hera for so long.
In the morning, Adeline made Dora her favorite double-patty beef burger. However, Dora didn't have the appetite to finish the burger. Sitting on the chair, she propped her elbows on the table and rested her chin in her hands as she looked glumly at Dylan.
"Dyl, has Mommy and Daddy abandoned us? Or are they busy making us new siblings?" Dora asked.
Dylan had tried multiple times to call Hera, but her phone was turned off. He also suspected that something had happened to her. However, when he called Tiffany to ask about the situation, she simply told him that nothing was off.
After all, it was always quite hard to contact Hera when she got busy with work.
"Mom wouldn't abandon us," said Dylan, his voice firm. "Unless… it's Dad who's forbidding her to come and see us."
"Daddy wouldn't do something like that, right?" Dora seemed to remember something and said, "He wouldn't make us choose between Mommy and his wealth, right? Can't we have both?"
Dylan was rather speechless at her response. "Can you stop reading those strange novels?"
Adeline walked out of the kitchen with a warm cup of milk and saw the unfinished burger in front of Dora, who looked glum. Concerned, Adeline asked, "Ms. Dora, why didn't you finish your food? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Ms. Truman, I miss Daddy and Mommy. When will they come back?" Dora asked.
Adeline didn't know what happened to Hera and Bernard. Needless to say, she didn't know when the two of them would return. "Mr. and Mrs. Killian are busy with work. They'll come back home once they're done with work."
Dylan was rather impressed. That was a great idea!
After calling Douglas, Adeline learned that something had come up and Bernard needed her to take care of the twins because he couldn't head home.
She went to the living room, where Dora sat at the dining table after having hidden the snacks in her bedroom. Dora batted her lashes innocently at Adeline and asked, "What did Daddy say?"
Adeline didn't have the heart to dampen Dora's spirits, but she still told the truth, "He's been busy lately, so he can't come back home. He'll return once he's done with his work."
Dora snorted. "Then tell him that I won't eat until he comes back!" That said, she jumped off the chair and ran upstairs.
She had just reached the stairs when she realized that Dylan wasn't behind her. She went back to the living room and yanked him by his arm so that he followed her from behind.
Then, she hollered, "Dyl's coming with me too! He won't eat anything at all until Daddy comes home!"
Dylan was dumbstruck. How dare Dora drag him into this!
