Three days later, thanks to Hera's self-treatment and the hospital's care, she was finally able to get out of bed. Her rapid recovery impressed Johnson. After all, it was rare for a patient to recover so quickly.
She stayed in the hospital for another week before her stitches were removed. Since there weren't any other complications, she could go home to recuperate. However, Bernard insisted that she stay for another week.
Each day, she would repeat the cycle of eating and sleeping. When she finally managed to get out of bed to use the bathroom, Bernard would insist on carrying her as if he wanted to spoil her rotten.
Hera hadn't been treated as well when pregnant with the twins. After more than half a month of this, Hera gained three pounds.
One day, Johnson came in for his routine check-up. Hera couldn't help but say, "Just as I told you, I'm fine. I can rest at home. Please let me be discharged. If I stay here any longer, I'll be spoiled rotten and gain more weight."
"A little weight is good. You were too thin before and uncomfortable to hold," Bernard commented.
Hera shot him a look and continued speaking to Johnson, "Please handle the discharge now. I want to be out of here by noon. Tomorrow is the weekend, and I don't want to spend it in the hospital. Plus, you should take some time off and find yourself a nice woman to date."
"Single guys like me don't get dates. But yes, you can be discharged. Ms. Hera knows her body better than I do. Bernard, you don't need to worry. Some light exercise will help with her recovery." Although Johnson said this, he still looked at Bernard for his approval.
"Fine," Bernard reluctantly agreed.
He wanted to pamper Hera until she was dependent on him and would never leave him. But she wasn't the type to accept that.
The twins, having heard that Hera would be discharged by noon, insisted that Adeline bring them to the hospital to pick her up.
"Mommy, here's a gift for you! I made this heart-shaped steak with Adeline. She said if you eat it, you'll stay healthy and never get sick again!" Dora excitedly handed over a lunchbox.
Hera happily accepted it and opened the box. Inside was a piece of steak, roughly shaped like a heart. One side was burnt, and the other side was undercooked. Despite its appearance, Hera was overjoyed. "Thank you. I love it."
Dora was confused. "Well, he's older than me!"
Dylan scoffed. "With your intelligence, it's a miracle your steak is even edible."
Dora raised her fist angrily. "Dylan! If you insult my intelligence again, I'll punch you!"
Dylan immediately fell silent, knowing that her punches were no joke.
Hera couldn't help but laugh. "I'll take turns eating them. I love you both equally, okay?"
"Can you take a slightly bigger bite of mine? I want you to love me a little more than Dyl." Dora gestured.
