Keith stood there like a statue, completely frozen for a good thirty seconds before he finally snapped back to reality. Then, like a monkey, he leaped into the air, startling Amara.
“Your scar is gone? How did it happen, and why didn't you tell me sooner?”
Keith bounced around Amara, poking her cheeks to ensure it was real, before letting out a delighted shout.
Amara laughed. “I got it treated by a doctor, you've got me blocked on Facebook, and you expect me to tell you?”
“I didn’t block you! I just deactivated my Facebook. Loads of people have asked me about it.”
As he spoke, Keith couldn’t tear his eyes away from Amara’s face.
She was really stunning. Having spent many years in the entertainment industry, Keith could guarantee Amara outshined any other actresses he’d seen. He never imagined that the Amara he grew up with would become this breathtaking once her scar was gone.
Naturally, their conversation revolved around Amara's transformation. Keith peppered her with questions about how her face healed and when she could finally ditch the mask or whatnot.
They talked late into the night, and it was only when Amara yawned that Keith reluctantly headed home.
The next morning, Amara arrived on set. Just as she was settling into the break room, Kevin showed up once more.
“Ama,” Kevin exclaimed as he pulled up a chair, grabbing Amara’s hand with a melodramatic sigh.
“You moved out, and now I’m all alone, missing you terribly.”
Amara remained silent, sensing the real reason for his visit. Sure enough, after pretending to wipe away nonexistent tears, Kevin continued, “Ama, why don’t you move back in? Spend some time with me. After all, once the divorce goes through, I won’t get to see you much.”
As Lisa turned to leave, Amara wanted to intervene, but Kevin held her hand. “Ama, stay out of this. He’s tangled up with that actress again, and I need to set him straight.”
Amara frowned. Kevin was notoriously stubborn, and she feared he’d make things difficult when Liliana and Finnian decided to tie the knot.
Soon, the door opened, and Finnian entered with Lisa trailing behind.
Finnian wore a charcoal gray suit and a blue tie, a refreshing change from his usual black attire. But Amara only glanced briefly before looking away.
Finnian’s expression was tense. Approaching Kevin, he didn’t get a chance to speak before the former pointed an accusing finger at him.
“Instead of working, you spend your day fawning over that actress! Since when do you start slacking off?”
