Tiffany found herself reminiscing about the time she met William's parents, especially Joyce, who really seemed to like her.

They kept in touch with phone calls. Joyce even sent over some tasty treats through William.

In those moments, Tiffany couldn't help but think that she and William were meant for a happy ending together.

The thought of getting married, having kids, and growing old together with nothing but love and support from their parents felt like a dream to Tiffany. She couldn't believe her luck.

But that dream shattered when she returned to her dorm one day and saw what was waiting inside.

Knowing Joyce had likely come to see her because of something William had said, Tiffany felt compelled to clarify matters.

So, she hopped into Joyce's car and was determined to address whatever had caused the unexpected visit.

The driver stopped in front of an upscale restaurant. Joyce led Tiffany inside and informed the waiter about their reservation.

As they were shown to their table, Tiffany was surprised to find William already seated. It almost seemed like he'd been waiting for them for a while.

Upon noticing them, William put away his phone and stood up to pull out chairs for Tiffany and Joyce.

Tiffany purposely chose a seat farthest away from him, while Joyce sat closely beside her.

"Tiff, what are you in the mood for? It's my treat," Joyce said warmly while handing Tiffany the menu.

Tiffany shook her head. "Mrs. Lewis, I didn't come here to eat. I—"

"Tiffany!" William cut in, "Let's eat first. We can talk afterward."

Ignoring him, Tiffany turned to Joyce. "Mrs. Lewis, regardless of what William may have told you, I'm here to clear things up.

Joyce reached out. "Tiff, come on. Just stay and have a meal with me, okay?"

Considering Joyce's position as an elder and the casual nature of the situation, Tiffany hesitated for a moment before reluctantly sitting back down.

"Have some more," Joyce urged, serving Tiffany more food until her plate was piled high.

William was silently peeling shrimp. His long fingers became stained, but he didn't seem to care. Once he finished, he held out the shrimp to Tiffany.

Meanwhile, Tiffany, who usually enjoyed shrimp, felt queasy at the scent due to her pregnancy.

Before Joyce could even ask, Tiffany covered her mouth and rushed to the restroom.

William stood up, saying, "Mom, I'll go check on her."

Joyce nodded. "Yes, please do."
