Teresa locked the door behind her. The warmth of the apartment calmed her slightly.

Eric had already headed into the living room. She noticed his foot and asked, "What happened to your foot?"

"Don't even ask." He sat down and propped his foot up on the coffee table. "Someone rammed into me downstairs and made me fall into the bushes. I twisted my ankle on the way down. Come and check it out for me. Massage it or something. It fucking hurts."

Teresa hurriedly got a hot compress. She applied it to his ankle and helped him massage the area.

"Where did you go in the afternoon?" Eric asked. "Why are you back so late?"

She told him about heading to Vincent's home and cooking for Anna. She also mentioned that Anna wanted to hire her as her nutritionist.

Before she could finish, Eric said, "You have to do it! That's 8000 dollars a month, and you'll have someone picking you up and dropping you off. Why turn it down?"

"You're okay with it?"

"Of course! 8000 dollars is a lot of money! Would anyone say no to more money?"

Teresa knew Eric was crazy about money; so was she. They were regular people, after all. They knew how important money was.

However, his words still upset her a little. "Didn't you say you wanted me to stay home so I could take better care of myself and get ready for a child?"

He waved his hand. "That's a different story. Being a nutritionist for Mrs. Lewis Senior won't affect that."

"Then… should I tell Tiff about this? Vincent Lewis is her boss, after all. Will it affect her job if I work as a nutritionist for his grandmother?"

"What the fuck? What's there to tell? It's not like she can pay you 8000 dollars a month!" Eric snapped. "Besides, how will it affect her? You're doing your job while she does hers!"

Teresa fell silent. She still thought it'd be better to tell Tiffany about this.

Eric seemed to see through her. He warned, "You'd better stop telling her everything that happens. If she really cared about us, she wouldn't have allowed us to head to the Lewis residence and be humiliated like that."

Teresa frowned. "You're the one who wanted to go."

A beam of light shone on them. Roadside assistance had arrived. Vincent tugged Tiffany's shirt down before getting out of the car with her in his arms.

It was still raining. She wanted him to put her down so she could walk, but he didn't give her the chance. He kept her in his arms as he got into the car that had been sent to pick them up.

He placed her on the seat before heading back to his car. When he returned, he held two bags. He pulled a scarf from one of the bags and wrapped it around her.

"This is…" Tiffany recognized it. It was the scarf he'd given her the first time he'd tried to compensate her. It was the one she'd rejected.

She was surprised he still had it, but what was more surprising was that he'd kept it in his trunk the whole time.

The other bag contained the skincare set for pregnant women. "I bought this for you. Since you already know it's from me, keep it. Don't return it to me anymore."

Tiffany's heart warmed. "Mr. Lewis…"

"Are you still gonna call me that?" Vincent brushed her cheek and gave her a heated look. "I've kissed and touched you to my heart's content. Do you think I'm not gonna bear the responsibility for that?"
