"She comes here every month?" William's brow creased into a deep frown, his face contorting as if he'd tasted something foul.

"Yeah, that's common for small motels like ours near the university. Most of our guests are young couples. It's really nothing unusual," the receptionist explained.

"Thank you." William left the motel abruptly.

He sat in his car for several moments, filled with a suffocating sense of unease.

He rolled down the windows, desperate for some fresh air. After a few moments to compose himself, he called Joyce. "Hey, Mom. Something's come up. I won't be able to make it to dinner."

The bathroom's temperature seemed to plummet. Tiffany shivered, wrapping a damp towel tightly around herself and huddling in the corner furthest from the air vents.

However, the cold gnawed at her.

Her phone rang sporadically, then fell silent, only to ring again and again.

After a while, Tiffany wasn't sure if the ringtone was real. Maybe it had never rung at all, and it was just a hallucination born from the relentless chill. If this continued, she really would freeze to death here tonight!

Meanwhile, Vincent and Alex arrived at the girls' dormitory building.

Just as they were about to enter, the dorm supervisor, Madeline Burton, blocked their path. "Hey! This is a girls' dorm. Who are you looking for?"

"Hello, ma'am, we're here for Tiffany," Alex replied politely.

"Tiffany from room 3202?"

"I'm not sure if it's 3202—"

Before Alex could finish, Vincent cut him off. "Yes, it is."

Alex gave Vincent a surprised look. How did he know Tiffany's room number? Had he been here before?

"Given your age and attire, I doubt you're students," Madeline said, her gaze settling on Vincent with a hint of recognition.

"If it's not too much trouble, could you please help us? We just want to make sure she's safe, and then we'll leave without causing any fuss."

His voice was calm and measured, exuding a quiet sense of authority.

"I see..." Madeline hesitated briefly before pulling out a set of keys.

"Given the circumstances, I'm concerned about Tiffany too. I'll make an exception and take you up."

"Thank you."

Vincent nodded subtly, and Madeline eyed him appreciatively.

As they entered the elevator, she asked, "So, boss, how old are you? Do you have a girlfriend? I have a great-niece who just turned 20... Perhaps I could introduce you?"

Alex fought back a laugh. He knew Vincent was a popular prospect, but this direct approach was a first.

He couldn't wait to see how Vincent would handle it.
