Lorraine’s phone rang again. She glanced at the caller it and save wit was Vanessa. She answered quickly. 

“Lorraine, where are you guys? Can you come pick me and Joshua up? Vanessa’s voice trembled.

She continued, “Jaden forbade me from going home. He already sent Easter eggs to Mom and thinks I’ll just complain if I go home. He also said he wouldn’t give me a ride.” Even though Lorraine had received a car as a wedding gin, she didn’t have a driver’s license. So, Jaden was the one using it. 

Lorraine was fuming when she heard that. But when she saw Finnegan and Lama staring at her, she quickly held it back. She didn’t want to scare them. 

She gently parted Luna’s head as she said to Vanessa “Get ready I’ll pick you up soon.” 

“okay” Vanessa promptly bong up 

Lentured to Logan. We need to swing by her place to pick her up” 

“got it past give me the address, and I’ll set the GPS.” 

After she provided the address, they drove in silence. 

Lorraine couldn’t help but wonder about Venessa’s marriage. Was she truly happy? Whar lessons could Lorraine learn from in? 

As she watched Logan drive, Lorraine couldn’t help but think how attractive he looked, even from behind. He was undeniably handsome, and Sonia often said it was a shame he wasn’t a celebrity. 

When they arrived at the Ware residence, Vanessa was waiting by the roadside with Joshua 

Jaden was there too With a smile on his face, he said, “have something sugent later, so I can’t take ber home. Thanks, Lorraine.” 

Lorraine glanced at her sister. Since Vanessa looked calm, Lorraine pretended she didn’t know they had been arguing and smiled. “Oh, it’s nothing. We were heading home 

She helped Vanessa with the luggage, loaded it into the trunk, and then sted postna into the truck Once Vanessa was buckled in, Lorraine hopped into the front passenger seat. Jaden waved goodbye, but Vanessa didn’t respond 

Logan exchanged pleasantries with him before driving off 

Jaden watched until the car was out of sight before turning around. 

The Ware family lived in a modest house by the roadside, which they had but themselves, unlike the grand Sommer residence. Their home was just three stories tall, and they hadn’t divided their family wealth yet 

The entire family lived together in this three–story house, though it lacked the splendor of the Sommer residence. Clearly, they were less affluent than the Sommers 

As soon as Jaden entered the house, Donna asked, “Did she really go back to her parents home for the holiday?” 

“Yeah” 

“Twin She just doesn’t want to transter her apartment to me, so she made up an excuse to kave,” Donna sud
