Donna had been enjoying her ice cream, but now, she was complaining, “I just want one floor of her apartment. She still has eight left! She collects such a huge sum of rent every month and won’t even give me one floor. She’s so sting Honestly, jaden, you have to back me up on this,” 

Jaden sat next to her and reminded her, “You’re pregnant now. You shouldn’t be eating cold stuff. It’s not good for your stomach or the baby” 

bethany, overheating the conversation, brought out a plate of sliced fruit and said, “She’s just satisfying a craving. It’s not like she eats ice cream often, so it’s fine.” 

She turned to faden. “By the way, did Vanessa go back to her parent’s place? Why did you let her take joshus with her? 

“She always worries about him. If she has him, she’ll stay at her parents for a while before thinking about coming back. But if she doesn’t, she’ll be back in a couple of days. 

“I told you to keep Joshua here. I was just in the kitchen cutting fruit, and you let her walk off with him” 

Jaden explained, “Lorraine and Logan came to pick her up. it hadn’t let her take Joshua, Lorraine would’ve thrown a tit. Mom, you know arguing with her is a losing battle. Plus, Joshua was crying, saying he wanted to go with Vanessa” 

Thinking of Lorraine’s temper, Bethany fell silent. After a while, she asked, “Did Lorraine really marry a construction worker? 

“Yes, but he’s good–looking. She probably married him for his looks” 

“Good looks don’t pay the bills,” she replied. 

Bethany was secretly pleased to hear Lorraine married a construction worker but quickly added, “Jaden, go after Vanessa and celebrate Easter with her family. Take her and Joshua home by Sunday night. On Monday, tell her to go through the transfer procedures with Donna. 

“Since Logan works in construction, he may not have the means to contribute much. Your in–laws care about their daughters. I bet they might help him out, so keep an eye on that. Don’t let them give everything to Lorraine 

“She still owes over a million, right? He probably can’t chip in trene might take pity on him and cough up the money in assist Lorraine 

“With you there, Vanessa won’t spill about Donna’s request to her parents. Once the transfer is done, it won’t matter if they find our ” 

Bethany had everything planned out. Among her four daughters–in–law, Vanessa’s family was the wealthiest, and Vanessa was truly in love with her son. 

As long as that love remained, the Wares could gradually access her family’s resources. After all, the Sommers wouldn’t let Vanessa suffer and would definitely continue to support her. 

Jonathan agreed with his mother. “I’ll head over now” 

Donna encouraged him to bring Vanessa back home too and added, “I’m craving shrimp. Let Vanessa’s mother know and pick up a few pounds for me. Bring more since we’re a big family and won’t be satisfied with just abite” 

“Got it, munchkin. I’ll bring Vanessa home now,” Jaden replied 

“Okay,” Bethany and Donna replied in unison 

Adter Jaden left, Donna asked, “Mom, do you think Vanessa will agree to make the transfer? She suddenly wants to spend Easter at her mom’s place. It’s clear she’s upset about transferring to me! 

“Don’t worry Jaden will talk her into it,” Bethany said whille patting Donna’s hand. 

She continued, “It Vanessa says no, that’s okay. Your dad and have some savings. We can help you with a down payment on a two–bedroom in the city. You and your husband can handle the mortgage

“But a two–bedroom won’t compare to Vanessa’s place. Each floor is spacious, and the building in a prime location. The price is about as expensive as a unit in downtown areas. Donna still hoped Vanessa would give her a floor of her apartment building for her wedding.
