Chapter 118 novel Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities
"When are we going back?" Helen inquired after regaining her composure.
Chandler snapped back to reality and replied, "Pack up, we'll head back this afternoon."
Helen felt relieved and returned to her room to prepare.
In the afternoon, they headed to the airport together. Throughout the journey, Helen and Chandler barely spoke, with Helen seemingly keeping her distance.
Upon their return to Aguilisco, Chandler directed the driver to drop Helen off at her home before he proceeded to the office.
Upon Helen's arrival, Esmond asked concernedly, "Helen, how did your exams go?"
"They went well, no major issues," Helen responded.
Esmond smiled, "I knew my Helen would do great. By the way, why did you return alone? Where's Chandler?"
Not keen on discussing Chandler, Helen simply answered, "He went to the office."
Esmond sensed Helen's unusual mood. "Helen, did Chandler give you any trouble these past few days? If he dared to bully you, just tell me. I'll back you up."
Helen looked down and shook her head. "No... I'm fine, Grandpa. I'm just a bit tired. I'll go rest in my room."
After excusing herself, Helen went upstairs. Esmond watched her leave, a meaningful smile on his face.
The butler commented, "Mr. Newton Senior seems to be in good spirits."
Esmond's smile widened. "Indeed, I must think of more ways to get Helen and Chandler to spend time together. I can't let my future granddaughter-in-law slip away."
The butler rarely saw Esmond so cheerful. "You're right, sir. Ms. Spencer and Mr. Chandler do seem quite compatible."
Helen somewhat missed her school days after being away for half a month.
"Finally, you're back," Phishie greeted her with a tight hug as soon as she arrived.
"Easy, you're squeezing the life out of me," Helen protested.
Phishie let go of her and said, "You have no idea how much I missed you."
Walking arm in arm towards their classroom, Phishie whispered, "Helen, I need to tell you something. Anne is getting engaged. She was here a few days ago, handing out invitations."
After hearing that name again, Helen remained unaffected. "Her matters don't concern me."
Phishie felt indignant on her behalf. "It's unfair how someone like her gets to live well. Shouldn't bad people be punished?"
