Chandler withdrew his hand and said, "I didn't know you're so afraid of snakes. But the snake was just a harmless rattlesnake, and it's not venomous."

Helen didn't dare mention anything else. She uttered, "Mr. Chandler, If there's nothing else, I'll go first."

Chandler nodded and replied, "Go ahead. Take good care of Ms. Lily."

Helen walked back. The thought of the unpleasant encounter between her and Lily before coming out stopped her from going back.

She sat alone at the bar near the hot spring entrance and ordered a drink.

Soon, Lily and Chandler came out together. Lily wore a radiant expression, which was completely different from before. "Mr. Chandler, the hot spring today was excellent."

She continued, "I'm delighted, especially with Ms. Mayhew. She's very considerate. It's no wonder you've been successful in the business for so many years by having such a capable assistant."

Chandler remained composed. "Ms. Lily, you're too kind. I've asked my assistant to arrange for the local delicacies of Aguilisco tonight. Let's get ready to go."

Lily smiled and said, "Sure, thank you, Mr. Chandler." Upon saying that, she left.

Helen approached Chandler and greeted him, "Mr. Chandler, I won't be joining tonight. I have some matters to attend to, so I'll head back instead."

Chandler looked at her, but he didn't ask any further. "Alright, you can go back first."

The next day, Helen dragged herself out of bed. She glanced in the mirror and noticed the dark circles under her eyes, looking weary. She then quickly covered the dark circles with foundation.

Coming out of her room and descending the stairs, Helen immediately spotted Chandler sitting on the couch. His legs were crossed casually as he flipped through the documents. Even the simplest actions performed by him carried an air of nobility.

"You're here," Chandler said as he closed the file, looking up at Helen.

He then glanced at his watch. "We have 15 minutes before we're late. Let's go." With that, Chandler walked toward the door, but Helen stayed on the spot.

Chandler frowned slightly and halted his steps. "What's wrong? Aren't you coming?"
