Helen quickly said, "I suddenly recalled I forgot something. So, you don't need to take me to school today. I can go by myself."

Before Helen could finish her sentence, Chandler had already approached her. His tall figure stood in front of her, making her stature seem especially petite in comparison.

"I'll wait for you here," Chandler said firmly.

Helen wanted to say something else. When she faced Chandler at this moment, she could feel her heart pounding incessantly as if it was about to leap out of her throat.

She quickly turned around and swiftly ran up the stairs.

Helen slammed her room door close. She placed her hand on her heaving chest, seemingly feeling waves of ripples surging in her heart. The strange sensation had resurfaced.

When Helen came back down, she didn't bother looking at Chandler. She simply walked past him quickly. "Let's go. I'm going to be late."

Upon watching her fleeing figure, Chandler's lips curved into a faint smile. He then followed her steps.

In the car, Helen didn't work on her practice questions for the first time. Instead, she leaned back in her seat as if dozing off.

However, her trembling eyes betrayed her. Chandler couldn't help but ask, "Did you not sleep well last night?"

Helen subconsciously opened her eyes and looked away. She pretended to look out of the window as if hiding something. "No, I slept well last night."

Chandler glanced at her through the rearview mirror but didn't say anything more.

As the car slowly pulled up to the school gate, Helen couldn't wait to open the door and quickly left the car. Chandler watched her retreating figure until it was out of sight before starting the car and driving away.

As soon as Helen reached the classroom, she started working on her practice questions. She forced herself to drive away the strange thought in her mind.

It was then Taylor spoke, "Helen, the annual Auto Racing World Championship in Furine is about to begin. Are you interested in watching?"

Three years ago, Helen won the ARWC by setting a record that still stood till now. After making waves in the international scene, she disappeared from the racing industry, leaving no trace of her whereabouts.

This year, however, there were rumors of emerging talents in the racing world. So, Taylor came to ask if Helen had any interest in watching the championship.

"So you're saying the ARWC is starting soon? When exactly?" Helen asked.

"It's next week! Although no one has broken the record you set all those years ago, I heard there's a promising contender named Little White Wolf this year," Taylor informed her.

He continued, "There are also a few rookies in the racing world with decent drifting skill, which should be quite exciting to watch."

Helen pursed her lips. She thought that going to Furine to watch the race might temporarily avoid Chandler and help her sort out her confused thoughts. It would allow her to clarify her feelings during this time.
