"I spread the word that I would be out to socialize today, and you assumed that I wasn't home, so you came back again. Unfortunately, I did it on purpose to wait for you. Tell me, who sent you over?" Chandler asked.

The man turned his head to the side, showing no intention of explaining anything.

"Tie him up and lock him in the basement for a few days without giving him food, then he'll start to speak," Helen suggested from the side.

The man heard it and glanced over with a sidelong look. "You're quite cruel." He had a deep, charming voice.

"You're flattering me," Helen replied with a smile. "You scared my daughter pretty badly last time, so locking you up for a few days is just a little payback."

After becoming a mother, she really started to hold grudges and wouldn't easily forgive anyone who had hurt her children.

Chandler grabbed the man and headed toward the basement. After scaring off the police officers last time, Hugo had moved to stay on the first floor, leaving the basement empty.

With this little incident taken care of, the Newton residence returned to its usual peace.

Since Chandler had returned, Abigail could only sleep alone in another room. However, her mind was filled with the image of the drunk Taylor. She tossed and turned the whole night, unable to sleep.

Before she knew it, dawn had arrived.

After breakfast, Chandler and Helen went to the basement to interrogate the man, and Abigail followed them. Hugo also tagged along.

But when they got to the basement, they found that the ropes had been untied, and the man was nowhere to be seen.

Then, an invisible door slowly opened, and the man from last night was standing behind the door. "I found you," Abigail said with a proud smile.

The man smiled brightly. "What if I intentionally led you to find me?"

Abigail was about to retort when she suddenly felt her neck stiffen, and her limbs became out of control. It was clearly the man's doing. "What did you do to me?"

"Don't worry, it's just a little nerve-numbing drug, and it's harmless to the body. Goodbye!" The man waved his hand and turned to the side, planning to walk past Abigail and exit the hidden room.

However, he stepped on a log, slipped, and accidentally tore Abigail's top.
