The man seemed to sense it and straightened up himself. As he glanced down, a look of surprise flashed past his eyes.
"What are you looking at?" Abigail shot him an angry glare.
"You can see mine as well," the man said and began to unbutton his shirt.
Abigail quickly shut her eyes. "You pervert!" The next second, she felt her body being wrapped up again.
As she opened her eyes to take a look, she saw the man running away. "Don't run if you have guts. Let's settle this one-on-one."
There was no way he could run away after taking advantage of her. She must beat him until he begged for mercy.
The man stood by the stairs with his hands in his pockets, grinning playfully. "I showed you mine, but you refused to look at it. We are even now, and there's nothing to argue about. We shall not meet again."
With that, he turned to go up the stairs, ready to make a run. This was a diversion trick—he first pretended to disappear, tricking Chandler into taking his men out to search for him so he could seize the opportunity to slip away.
Abigail, who had never suffered such a grievance, shouted angrily, "Don't show up in front of me again!"
As soon as she said that, the gradually fading footsteps suddenly became clear again. The man retreated step by step from the stairs and returned to the hidden room.
He looked up at the end of the stairs, where Chandler stood, blocking most of the light that streamed in. Chandler seemed like a god, yet also like the Grim Reaper.
"Would this count as the second time I've caught you?" Chandler asked, sounding authoritative.
"You weren't actually fooled." The man frowned slightly, a bit frustrated.
"Now you can tell me your name." Chandler pretended to let go while still taking control, which was somewhat like taming a wild beast.
The man indeed had such plans. Since Abigail saw through him, he decided to come clean. "Aren't you worried that I'll actually do that?"
"No," Chandler replied confidently. "But I'm not a fool either. If I catch you again, you'll have to join Destiny Corporation and work for me."
That would be fair as well.
"Deal." The man agreed without any hesitation and dashed up the stairs in small, quick steps.
When he passed by Chandler, he was stopped again. "Wait a minute."
"What's wrong? Are you having second thoughts?" The man reached into his pocket, ready to make a move to escape at any moment.
