"Mr. Wixx, we're both smart people. I don't need to teach you how to handle this, do I? I'll be waiting for your good news."

After that, Freya hung up the phone. As she turned, she saw Alice standing in the room. Startled, she patted her chest to calm herself. "When did you get here? You walked so quietly."

Then, she remembered the conversation she just had on the phone. Her expression shifted, and she immediately questioned, "What did you hear?"

"Don't worry. I didn't hear anything," Alice said, always tactful. "I'm here to collect the remaining payment, Freya."

Actually, Freya could have directly transferred the money to Alice's account, but she deliberately withheld it, wanting Alice to come in person. She enjoyed the sense of superiority in making someone come to her for the money.

Alice understood perfectly but still came. Although she was older than Freya, she always felt smaller in her presence. After all, Freya was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Freya rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Wait here."

She turned to her bag, took out an already prepared check, and handed it over arrogantly. "Here. Take it."

"Thank you, Freya." Alice accepted the check with a smile, glanced at the amount, and began negotiating. "But this isn't enough. I need an additional 50 million."

"We agreed on this amount. Why are you raising the price now?" Freya sized her up, her gaze full of disdain, as if she were looking at a beggar.

"Yes, but you didn't mention there would be a risk to my life. I almost got killed by Jenson. I think it's reasonable to ask for some compensation for emotional distress, don't you?" Alice had always been calculative.

For Freya, money was just numbers. What really mattered was silencing Alice. With a huff, she quickly wrote out another check for 50 million and threw it at Alice. "Take the money and keep your mouth shut."

Alice smiled and tucked the check away. "The money's enough. Everything's fine now. If anything like this happens again, please come to me. I'll be going now. Say hi to Uncle Seth for me."

"Stop embarrassing the Moran family. It's better than saying 'hi' a thousand times," Freya said disgustingly.

Jenson turned and saw her, immediately scowling at her with a look that seemed like he wanted to devour her.

Rather than being scared, she only became more amused.

"Hey, you're so bad! You're always looking at me like that! Don't be so fierce. I'm not trying to hurt you. The real mastermind is Freya. She set everything up. I'm just a pawn. Even without me, there would be other women. I'm in good condition. You won't be losing out, you know."

Freya was arrogant; Alice wanted to cause trouble and chip away at her confidence so she wouldn't always look down on others.

"After conspiring with her to harm me, do you really expect me to smile at you?" He glared at her.

"Forget it. You probably look terrible when you smile anyway. This works for me," she said, her unpredictable nature shining through.
