"What? How could you lose?" Seth was flabbergasted.

He just wanted to eat some meat! There was no need for such a dramatic plot twist, was there?

"Right, you lost, so you have to listen to me. Now, back to your room, lie down, and stay put."

This time, Seth didn't put up a fight as Tiana dragged him back to his room.

"You're strong, but Lincoln was a lot faster this time." Helen helped James to his feet.

The man was ashamed. "I was the one who underestimated him."

"It was the bottle of wine!"

Lincoln was equally puzzled since Kingsley hadn't actually given him any special training. But when he heard Helen's words, he recalled the bottle of wine Kingsley coaxed him into drinking earlier.

"Not too bad, eh? Doesn't it feel like energy is coursing through your body?" Kingsley raised an eyebrow, smirking wickedly.

Abigail immediately protested, "You doped Lincoln. That's cheating!"

"No rules were broken," Kingsley replied smugly, winking at her.

"You!" Abigail fumed.

"What? Want to back out? Just admit that you can't handle losing," he goaded.

"Fine. A deal's a deal. I'll run your errands for the following month." Abigail didn't intend to go back on her word. If she did, how would she be any different from the bastard Kingsley?

"Everyone heard that, right? I didn't force her to say that!" Kingsley called out for everyone to hear.

"Yeah, I said that willingly." Abigail shot him a glare. "Be ready for the most memorable month of your life!"

With that, she stormed off.

"You were brilliant, Dr. Godfrey!" Taylor, thoroughly entertained, secretly gave Kingsley a thumbs-up.

"What? Then why did it take you so long to make this?" James looked at him curiously.

Clicking his tongue, Kingsley swung an arm over James' shoulder. In a low voice, he answered, "If I made it seem too easy, Lincoln would be even more demanding. I can't have that now, can I?"

James finally understood. "You're really as sly as a fox."

"Watch your words. This is called being strategic. Now, do you want it or not?"

"Yes, please." James grinned. "You're more than smart enough to mentor Mr. Lincoln."

"That's the kind of talk I like." Kingsley handed him an additional bottle of pills. "Here's a gift for you."

"What is it?"

"Deadveil. If your opponent is too strong, taking this will help you play dead for half an hour."
