After dropping Helen off at home, Chandler headed out to take care of some business.
As they made plans to return to Grand Cathay, the subject of gifts naturally came up. A trip like this wouldn't feel complete without picking out thoughtful presents for family and friends.
With Abigail and Germaine both free, they decided to join Helen for a shopping spree at the mall.
At a luxury boutique, Germaine spotted a handbag she liked and reached for it. But before her fingers could touch it, another hand swiftly grabbed it.
She turned around to see Freya standing there, a smug smile on her face. Germaine's gaze flickered briefly at the sight.
Freya slung the handbag over her shoulder, admiring her reflection in the mirror as she posed. With a mocking tone, she said, "In ancient times, only the legitimate wife had the right to carry such bold red. Some people just aren't lucky enough. Even if they wore it, they'd only disgrace themselves."
The slap from Seth during their last encounter had left Freya burning with resentment, and that bitterness had only grown since. In her eyes, Germaine was the root of all her anger.
Germaine, however, had no intention of being a scapegoat in their father-daughter drama. "What's so special about being the legitimate wife? It doesn't stop you from digging through the trash to find a man," she shot back.
Freya's composure cracked immediately. "What did you just say?" she hissed. "Bryan is young, successful, and mature—he's leagues ahead of that pretty boy you call a man. Let's not forget, you're the one he discarded!"
"Is that what Bryan told you? That he didn't want me?" Germaine laughed, her eyes gleaming with disdain. "Typical Bryan—no matter how dirty his hands are, he always manages to keep his image spotless.
"Out of respect for Dad, I'll offer you some advice—he's not the saint you believe him to be, and you'd be wise not to get too entangled with him."
"You're offering me advice? Don't make me laugh. Do you actually think of yourself as my sister now? First, you caused trouble and turned Dad against me, and now you have the nerve to meddle in my relationship.
"Germaine, do you seriously think the Moran family is your personal domain? Today, I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!"
As Freya braced herself, Helen suddenly released her grip. In an instant, Freya lost her balance, stumbling backward. She grabbed the wall to steady herself, taking a few unsteady steps before managing to regain her footing.
She stood frozen for a moment, seething with rage. Without warning, she flung the unpurchased bag at Helen.
Hearing the commotion, Abigail swiftly charged forward, launching into a spinning kick. The bag sailed through the air in a smooth arc, landing squarely on Freya's head.
"Ouch!" Freya winced, clutching the spot where the bag had hit. Her hair was disheveled, and she looked completely humiliated.
"See that? That's what happens when you get what's coming to you," Abigail said, dusting off her hands.
She walked over to join Helen and Germaine, a smug grin tugging at her lips as she watched the scene unfold.
