Helen turned around to see Margaret approaching, surrounded by several socialites. Helen greeted her with a forced smile. "Ms. Leonard, is there something you need?"

Margaret looked at Helen's face, seemingly surprised by Helen's courage to stand there.

"Margaret, is this the Ms. Spender you've mentioned before? How unique," said one of the socialites, who was a friend of Margaret's named Queenie Haroldson. Her remark triggered laughter among the others.

"Queenie, you shouldn't say that. Ms. Spencer might not look that impressive, but her courage is

commendable. It's rare to find someone as brave as her here," Margaret said innocently.

Queenie looked at Helen disdainfully. "Allowing such a person here lowers our level of collective beauty. Unfortunately, we have to share a space with someone like her."

Helen knew they meant no good after hearing her words. But, she wasn't one to be bullied. "If you dislike sharing the same space as me, perhaps you should leave now! After all, trash belongs in the trash heap."

Queenie instantly flared up. "You bitch! Who are you calling trash? Look at yourself and see how you affect our beauty standards."

Another socialite, Nancy Linfield, couldn't help but join the conversation. "Being ugly is fine, but scaring people with your looks is not."

Helen crossed her arms. She was unimpressed as she mocked, "Haven't your owners taught you not to bark at everyone you see?"

After speaking, Helen didn't wait for their response. She turned to Margaret and jeered, "Is it fun for you to play these petty games? Or haven't you learned your lesson? Do you need me to remind you?"

She quickly tried to smooth things over by saying, "I only told you I've had a bad experience with her. I didn't realize she was this formidable. She managed to counter both of you easily. It shows I wasn't just making excuses when I had trouble with her.

"I'm not avoiding defending you two, but I have to be cautious. She knows something about me that I can't let get exposed. If things get worse between us, it will be difficult for me."

Margaret's attempt to appear pitiable made Queenie less angry. "Alright, Margaret, I'm not blaming you. Helen is indeed tough. I need to think of a way to deal with her properly!

"You have plans tonight, right? Why not include her? I think the bouncers at the door look promising. Why not give her a free taste of that?"

The three shared a look and laughed while hatching a nasty plan.
