Freya had long seen through Seth and wasn't upset; she just found it very ironic.
She carefully attended to him until he fell asleep. She then left his room and tiptoed to the outside of Chandler's room. Leaning against the door, she listened to the movements inside.
After confirming that there was no one inside, she opened the door and quietly entered.
It was a small suite. Upon entering, there was the lounge, and the bedroom was on the left further inside. Freya walked to the door between the lounge and the bedroom and saw Chandler lying on the bed from a distance.
His eyes were shut as he was sleeping soundly. With his deathly pale face, one might think that he was just a corpse if it weren't for the heart rate monitor that was still beeping beside him.
Even though he lay completely still, Freya still felt inexplicably scared when she looked at his face. She didn't dare to stay too long and quickly took out her phone, snapping a photo of Chandler lying on the bed.
Just then, a faint sound rang out behind her. "What are you doing?"
Freya was startled and quickly turned, hiding her phone behind her. Seeing that it was Lincoln who came in, she subtly let out a sigh of relief as a little boy posed relatively little threat.
By the time she looked up again, Lincoln had already walked up to her. He expressionlessly extended his hand, opened his palm in front of her, and said coldly, "Hand it over. I saw it."
Freya gulped nervously. Lincoln was just a kid, yet she inexplicably felt a sense of pressure when she met his eyes.
After a few seconds of standoff, she finally handed over her phone.
Lincoln took the phone and opened the photo album. After flipping through the photos without finding anything, he looked up at her and then lowered his head to continue searching.
As he spoke, he shook the IV tube in his hand.
"Uncle James, to be safe, you should be given IV fluids next time. It'll look more realistic," Lincoln suggested.
"Can't you pretend I didn't say anything?"
"I'll go get it ready."
James was rendered speechless.
